I aplogize for the layout in advance. It is an insider so I can't give you the link and I tried to copy and paste and couldn't get it to look right at all. Let me know if you would like Kiper or McShays scouting report on any other player, I didn't feel like putting them for each player.

Kiper --------- McShay

Rams - 1. Sam Bradford QB 1. Sam Bradford QB

Skins' 4. Jimmy Clausen QB 4. Russell Okung OT

Browns 7. Jason Pieree Paul DE 7. Joe Haden DB

Kiper on Pieree Paul: "Pierre-Paul has the chance to be a dynamic star in the NFL if he continues to develop, and he would be a dangerous pass-rusher as he is now. With off-the-charts physical skills for his size, he's an exciting talent. I said before that he could be the Mario Williams of this draft, and I maintain that thought."

McShay on Haden: "Haden ran surprisingly slow 40-yard dashes at the combine, but we cannot find any issues with his playing speed on tape. Cleveland could opt for top WR Dez Bryant here, but from a positional value standpoint, we believe the team is better off spending top-seven money on a cornerback."

Raiders 8. Bruce Campbell OT 8. Bruce Campbell OT

Grade 3 Shoulder seperations are verging on the very serious, Pt's under 20 are expected to have a 100% chance o recurrence, while players in there early 20's (Bradford 22) have a recurrence in the high 80 to mid 90% chance of recurrence. However, after his second dislocation (which was bound to happen sooner or later) he did undergo surgery, which is usually done after a second instance. The surgery basically gives you 85-90% chance of being good to excellent condition. There is still some question and risk, all though lower after the surgery.

atfd30

Reply to Insider McShay / Kiper Newest Mock on Fri, 12 Mar 2010 13:58:38 GMT

KC needs to upgrade their o-line badly, we won't take Bryant because of his attitude and character.

Redskins have contacted Rams about Carriker

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 11, 2010 6:06 PM ET

Perhaps Washington's big offseason splash will come via trade, not free agency.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports the Redskins have contacted St. Louis about the availability of defensive lineman Adam Carriker. Jim Haslett is reportedly a big fan of the 13th overall pick in the 2007 draft despite perceptions he's underachieved as a pro.

La Canfora believes Carriker is available, and could play some nose tackle and defensive end in Washington's 3-4 defense. Albert Haynesworth reportedly doesn't want to play the nose.

Washington is also believed to be interested in moving defensive end Andre Carter, who isn't a natural fit in the 3-4 defense. Carter has a no-trade clause, but is "very open" to leaving the Redskins. (We wonder if "very open" includes St. Louis.)

Shipping Carriker out of town would seemingly make St. Louis' decision on the first overall pick even tougher, since they would have a hole on the defensive line to fill

You're not wrong. The talent actually levels out. For instance, if you're picking at #20 you can still get the same quality of player you would around 7 or 8.

No need to be rude...

Points to consider

1. Why would the Rams make Quinn their starter when he cant even keep the job here. Before you call me a BQ hater, stop. Because as my brother likes to say, "I have a man crush on Brady." I think he hasnt deserved a fair shot, but he wont be given the starting job by whoever trades for him. To think so, is ridiculous.

I could have plugged in another name. So it isn't Quinn. What if it's Kevin Kolb?

2. About Bradford's shoulder. He had a grade 3 shoulder seperation. The injury is not terribly serious. Bradford merely returned too soon hoping to play against arch-rival Texas. He has already been checked out at the combine with doctors stating his shoulder "checked out really well." The shoulder is not an issue.

How do you know it's not an issue? It may very well be one hell of an issue if he's the top overall pick in the draft and taking hits. As of right now, his range of motion is reportedly good but his strength is not there. A grade 3 separation is a complete dislocation. Yes, it can be fixed but that doesn't mean it can't happen again or that he won't develop arthritis.

3. Why would St. Louis draft Suh or McCoy. They have spent recent 1st round picks on Chris Long (2008) and Adam Carricker (2007). The Rams won't spend another top pick on DL. That is too much money spent on one area without allowing your other picks time to develop.

Because Carriker needs to be moved to end and their defense still sucks. This was discussed on NFL Radio yesterday. I'll agree with you that I personally don't see the value in taking another DL-man but this argument was floated out there by a guy who's been a GM..

1. St Louis: Bradford

Look at my last post

2. Detroit: Okung

The Lions have already done tremendous work to bolster their d-line this off season. Word coming out of their front office indicates that they are targeting a LT to protect Stafford

3. Tampa Bay: Suh

They need DT help, and Suh is the best of the two

4. Washington: Clausen

There are only two options I see here. QB or LT. They will not reach that high for a LT and will decide to take Clausen. Dont be surprised to see a trade here.

5. Kansas City Trade

Both Berry and McCoy are still available at the 5 spot. Somebody will give the Chiefs a heck of a deal to move up and select their guy. I would love for the Browns to trade up 2 spots to grab Berry here. Remember that Scott Pioli the GM for KC comes from the Patriots system. They LOVE to trade down and accumulate picks.

After KC trades its unknown from there on out. If Cleveland is not part of the KC trade expect us to still take Haden despite the slower combine time.

If Cleveland is not part of the KC trade expect us to still take Haden despite the slower combine time.

K-TownBrown

Reply to Insider McShay / Kiper Newest Mock on Thu, 11 Mar 2010 19:11:53 GMT

@<bdi>earl34</bdi> said:
Mopaji, I think Bradford at #1 is a smokescreen.

Please dont ever try to be a draft analyst.

2. About Bradford's shoulder. He had a grade 3 shoulder seperation. The injury is not terribly serious. Bradford merely returned too soon hoping to play against arch-rival Texas. He has already been checked out at the combine with doctors stating his shoulder "checked out really well." The shoulder is not an issue

3. Why would St. Louis draft Suh or McCoy. They have spent recent 1st round picks on Chris Long (2008) and Adam Carricker (2007). The Rams won't spend another top pick on DL. That is too much money spent on one area without allowing your other picks time to develop.

The Rams will select Sam Bradford because they HAVE to have a quarterback who can give this team a chance to succeed.

Bradford will be the choice for the Rams

K-TownBrown

Reply to Insider McShay / Kiper Newest Mock on Thu, 11 Mar 2010 18:56:10 GMT

Mock drafts are kind of dumb.

My first seven would be:

1. Rams- Suh

2. Lions- Okung

3. Bucs- McCoy

4. Skins- Bradford (cause Danny Boy doesn't care about 50 million)

5. Chiefs- Berry

6. Seahawks- Clausen

7. Browns- trade down. I don't see us taking Pierre-Paul who is a guy who (albeit talented) has only started one year in college and Mel Kiper would have you believe he's the next Mario Williams. Mel Kiper impresses me less and less every year.

Earl34

Reply to Insider McShay / Kiper Newest Mock on Thu, 11 Mar 2010 17:26:10 GMT

I am amazed at how differently I see this going.

1. Rams - Bradford

2. Lions - Okung

3. Bucs - Suh

4. Skins - Bryant, or Spiller

5. Chiefs - McCoy

6. Seahawks - Clausen

7. Browns - Berry....if we stay.

Detroit already picked up two DL during free agency and trade, now they are going to want to protect Stafford and that potentially lethal offense

And Washington went defense last year and they are the type of team who gets sucked in by the "sexy pick". Portis is old and they don't have a legitemate WR on that team. It's Campbell's make or break year so they will look to get him a weapon.

mopaji
