The Akron Beacon-Journal suggests that Browns LG Eric Steinbach's roster spot is not assured in Cleveland.

Steinbach graded out poorly across the board in '09 and was given a hint when the Browns worked him with the second team in OTAs. We haven't heard of Steinbach running as a backup in camp, but the team did add to the guard position this offseason. Steinbach also has a hefty $5.75M salary.Source: Akron Beacon-Journal

ESPN's James Walker, on site in Berea, believes Seneca Wallace has been the best quarterback in Browns camp this week.

i think jake will be on a shorter leash than people think. our first two games of the season are extremely winnable, and if jake cant get the job done, or at least look good losing, then the switch should be made to wallace. imo management doesnt care about how much each player is making, the best player will start, and if we want to resign wallace at the end of the season, which i think we should do, he'll have to have a legitiment chance to start. i would love nothing more than to see jake prove all the haters wrong and come out gun slingin, but i have my doubts, and i think seneca is the more sure bet, and will prove to be the temporary solution we were looking for

chrisP_chicken

Reply to Steinback had rough 09, not assured to stay... ESPN's James Walker, on site in Berea, believes Seneca Wallace has been the best quarterback in Browns camp this week.

No freaking way! Are you kidding me? Steinbach was one of the more impressuive players I seen at camp this year. I never felt very strongly about him one way or another since his first year here, but I thought the guy looked young and ready to go this season. This guy is nuts. Every down and snap I seen Steinbach take was right next to Joe Thomas.

Screw Seneca Wallace. Delhomme looked very 'veteran-like' from my point of view. He was consistient, can make all the throws, and was TAKING WAY, WAY, WAY, THE MAJORITY OF THE SNAPS at camp. In fact, since the Browns have been back in 1999, I have not seen a QB dominate the reps in training camp as Delhomme has. In years past, they would cycle four QB's tjhrough drills one after the other after the other after the other. This sesaon, it has been Delhomme working almost all the drills. Seneca & Colt working 'side-drills', or only involved with the main sessions when they have three or four QB's throwing at once to 3-4 WR's.
