Of course they're fans of a frontrunning team... the Steelers are always in front. Even when they finish 2nd ('05) another team hangs a "AFC North" banner and the Steelers bring home the real hardware.

Calling us "frontrunning" fans is like saying you guys root for a team that sucks. Of course you do--you always have. Good on you for that, but it ain't like we've got much choice... to root for the Steelers is to root for a winner.

Your stupidity is legendary. The true Steeler fans are not frontrunners. The ones that are Steeler fans win or lose -- not frontrunners. But frontrunner nation, those in Ohio, those in the rest of the country, that NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN STEELER FANS IF THEY HADN'T WON SO MUCH are the frontrunners. Generation X and Generation Y, a HUGE fraction of those two groups, grew up hopping on the Steelers SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY WERE WINNING.

When we say frontrunners, we're NOT talking about the true fans -- the ones actually FROM Pittsburgh or close to it.

All you have to do is look around Ohio or anywhere else in the country. What explains why there are so many "fans" wearing Steeler parafanalia, but not, say, Arizona Cardinals? It's the DIRECT effect of win percentage. Period. There is no other explanation. Most of them, like I said earlier, are from either Generation X or Generation Y and were either molded into fanhood during the 70's Steeler age or the Cowher Era (who had the best win % in the NFL for 15 years.)

How you could not understand the difference and how legit of a claim it is is evidence that some humans are not quite evolved yet. It is not hard to understand. The same damn thing can be seen with people wearing New York Yankees gear across the nation. It's not rocket science.

The Steeler fan base is arguably the largest concentration of frontrunners in Sports history. It's simple logic. I know it hurts, especially for die-hard Steeler fans to have to try and distinguish themselves from the heard of frontrunners, but it's the truth. Accept it, get used to it. Win percentage creates it. Jesus Christ.

Just look at any other team in any other sport that has a great historical win % and you'll see the same thing. Cowboys? Yep. Yankees? Yep. Red Sox recently? Yep. Bulls from the 90s? Yep. Celtics? Yep. Lakers? Yep.

But none worse or more abundant than the frontrunner Steeler "fan" base.

Which leads you to understand why, far and away, the Browns fan base is the best. You won't find a team that continually loses fill up their stadium anything like the Browns. You won't find a team with "backers" clubs all around the world despite constantly losing like the Browns. The Browns fan base is an unexplainable phenom and goes against all logic.

The absolute best.

DTBH

Reply to Officials & Squeelers on Tue, 16 Dec 2008 01:41:02 GMT

SHUT THIS THREAD DOWN! The only NFL "Conspiracy" Theory I know of is the Conspiracy to HATE Pittsburgh by a bunch of Petty , spineless whiny Bitchie Fans in NE Ohio...who have to , yes , suffer more than any fan should have to suffer. But ,have used that bitterness to use ungodly amounts of energy to Dispel the Success of their main rival , instead of ignoring us and concentrating on their own damn team ! I mean ...if we have idiot factions of fans rubbing salt into your wounds IGNORE Them. The remainder of us , wont pick on you , until you decide to use asinine logic to claim WE Suck and are coddled and have to "Cheat" to win...its BS and make your fan base look like Dumb asses ! But if that's what you are half-breed Imbeciles...by all means Continue. We will be here to tell you that you are indeed Stupid. And its not all of you . You have some fine football minds. You are missing the point, if it would have been called a TD on the field no one here would disagree that it should stand. It just should not have been overturned either way. I'm sure there are Seahawk fans that remember the worst officiated Superbowl in history. I don't believe there is a conspiriacy, I think Coleman is a joke. Wow, you are just as smart as he is! The point being made was when possession starts, it starts when no matter what happens from that point on it is a completion. You would be bitching if the roles were reversed and you know it. And there has to be doubt in your mind to explain 10 different ways that it was without doubt an obvious TD. If it was a running back rushing into the endzone there and he made it as far as Holmes did into the endzone it may have been a TD, but still wouldn't be clear enough to overturn a call either way. Well, I guess with those officials it would have been, they had serious issues with the LOS. Chuck, there is no reason to bitch about holding calls, happens all game long. That's usually the only thing the Browns have to hang on to or discuss the last 2-3 games of the season since they are never in playoff contention and never have a chance to win anything.

Holmes10_Ward_86

Reply to Officials & Squeelers on Mon, 15 Dec 2008 18:52:45 GMT

Formerly Stone said:
By the way, any moron who understands football could see that the TD was good!

So if at that magical moment where you said Holmes had possession, what happens if a defender knocks the ball out of his hands? Still a completion? If not, you can't say possession started there because possession starts at the point where an incompletion becomes a fumble. Wouldn't you agree?

I really liked the way the game ended, I am a Browns fan who doesn't like Baltimore or Pittsburgh at all. I'd like to see one of the two miss the playoffs, and this was probably the best case scenerio for that to happen. So i was ok with the Steelers winning, and almost happy that they won it with a call that could never be overturned by replay, but was.

Thomas5737

Reply to Officials & Squeelers on Mon, 15 Dec 2008 18:35:39 GMT

@<bdi>eqrulz101</bdi> said:
Ya, I dont watch wrestling, its fake and Im about there with football after games like steelers and ravens, its borderline fake. No, but they have gotten their share that is for sure. I dont watch every game of the Steelers but I will say the couple I watch a year has some shady calls going your way and Im not talking about Browns games where I have a vested interest. I could give a shit about the Ravens but they was robbed out of that game last night. You can call names all you want doesnt change the fact those refs where bought and paid for.

How were they robbed?? The Ravens defense is the ones that let the Steelers drive down the field on them 92 yards at the end of the game. Did the refs tell the Ravens to let the Steelers drive down the field on them and go the length of the field with the game on the line?? And like I have been saying on here the Steelers probably go for it on 4th down and make an inch and win the game so it's a moot point. If you want to say the Ravens would have stopped the Steelers I can say the Steelers would have got in. Hindsight is 50/50 in that situation. But once again this whole thing goes back to Browns fans like yourself being bitter and jealous of the Steelers franchise consistently winning and competing for playoffs and Super Bowls every year while the Browns continue to hire losers and continue to settle for being .500 as a successful season. That's the real issue here. You Browns fans would give your left testicle to have a consistent football team with a defense like the Steelers, and a QB like Ben if it meant you would have a chance to compete and win every year. And if you say otherwise you're a liar and full of shit.

Holmes10_Ward_86

Reply to Officials & Squeelers on Mon, 15 Dec 2008 18:03:30 GMT

UpChuck McCluck said:
Schadenfreude.

Don't use big words Cluck....you'll hurt yourself.

The Squeelers get more cheesedick calls by the officials than ANY other team. I'm sure the Frontrunner nation is A OK with that.

If the football gods offered to exchange the Steelers players, coaches and ownership in a direct swap for everything Clowns...you would take it grinning like a fool and ejaculating in your pants. Too bad for you it'll never happen, but then again you and furburger can pin your hopes on another teams failure, rather than accept the ineptitude of your own.

You're most likely a wrestling fan who thought Hulk Hogan was robbed when he "fought" Rocky to a draw. It's funny how every bad call that goes in favor of your your team is quickly forgotten, and they were just the better team. And your team never loses, they only get cheated by the refs. Get real and quit whining.

I can see Furburger now, Tivo on replay trying desperately to find some satisfaction or last straw to grasp onto in another division championship for the Steelers.
