Coordinators in this league do exist who have received interviews for over a decade before actually getting a shot at a HC gig.

I actually don't think Caldwell, Smith, or Tomlin are great coaches... Caldwell and Tomlin benefit from a franchise QB and good overall teams. Smith was on the hot seat this yr until mike martz came in as OC and saved his butt...

They just stink this year. I like him as a coach but I'd really rather see us go after an offensive minded guy for head coach if we're looking for a new one which I think we will be.
