Here I have some shrimp and pork rinds for early munching. The main event is Cuban sandwiches.

The pork loin has been soaking all night in a marinade of oil, garlic, cumin, oregano, lemon juice, orange juice, vinegar, salt, pepper, and water.

Once cooked it will be sliced length wise for sandwich making.

The sandwich itself is the pork, salami, ham, dill pickle, swiss cheese, and yellow mustard, served on pressed Italian bread....heated and toasted in a sandwich press until the cheese melts.

To wash down, I skipped the light beer and will go with Sam Adams Boston Lager.

What are you folks planning??

Reply to What's on the menu today?? on Tue, 08 Feb 2011 14:44:40 GMT

Went to the SB party that WSS had, so it was kind of a pot luck deal on the food, and I decided not to bring a 'main dish" but a dessert.

Fruit bomb works well for me. I like a bold fruity wine to go along with the typical fare served at tailgates. You need something that holds up, and a big Zin holds up well.

ballpeen

Reply to What's on the menu today?? on Tue, 08 Feb 2011 17:22:33 GMT

Went to my pal's house- and it was bring your own chili. Ribs are my favorite. How do you cook them Cal? I know there are a couple ways.

I am going to my local Steeler bar down on the Outer Banks and root for the Packers (my second team), lived in Wisconsin for some time, some of my family still live there and are HUGE Packer fans.

Kosar_For_President

Reply to What's on the menu today?? on Sun, 06 Feb 2011 18:52:29 GMT

Rack of ribs, home baked rolls, apple crisp (from excellent year old frozen transparent apples),
