Cb On Radar In Draft?

I have to go look up the picks Atlanta has. According to this, Altanta might be the trade down gold mine that the Browns could really

use in this draft.

And moving Brown to safety seems to be a great move, if they could nab another shut down cb...

I'd give up Green easy, for a nice trade down...

********************************************************

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Falcons are likely to contact the Browns about the No. 6 overall pick if Georgia WR A.J. Green falls past the Bengals at No. 4.

GM Thomas Dimitroff has a history of moving up and down in the draft, and it's no secret Atlanta needs a field stretcher with Tony Gonzalez in decline and Michael Jenkins' inability to separate. Green would be the split end, deep threat to Roddy White's flanker. It would take a lot of work on Atlanta's part, but sounds like a match made in heaven. The Browns also have so many weaknesses that a trade down might be exactly what they want. Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Browns CB Sheldon Brown revealed that he underwent surgery "a couple of weeks" after the season to repair a torn rotator cuff.

Brown injured the shoulder attempting to tackle Braylon Edwards in mid-November, playing through pain the rest of the way. He expects to be 100 percent by June. Brown is penciled in as the starter opposite Joe Haden, but the Browns will consider moving him to safety depending on their draft haul.
If Peterson is gone and AJ is available, but we feel someone like Blackmon can be just as good or could produce just as well for our team, and could be avaible at 27. Plus you get two 1st plus more picks; it could very well be a good risk for us.

I think Peterson is really the only one we are looking at with the 6th pick at this point and after that we want to try and move back compared to who is availbe still. You also must be confused because Blackmon isn't in the draft this year.

Exactly, moving back that far 6-27 is, well- too far. Atlanta would have to give us the ranch. Not saying if they think they're "one player away" they won't consider it. Cost would be this years first and second, and a first next year minimum.

The Browns need impact players, and dropping out of the top 1\2 of the first round lowers your odds of getting one considerably.

I don't really think we need next years first, but we defiantly need alot, with points we could be 1-4 this year and 2-4 next year.
I absolutely agree. The steelers, colts, patriotss, etc always draft in the final 1/3 and still find studs. Its all about hitting on the players you DO pick. Also the money saved from 6 to 27 would be big. I guess with the rookie wage scale it wouldn't matter, but all those extra picks to fill all those holes would be awesome

BuckeyeBrown

Reply to Falcons To Contact The Browns In Trade... Sounds good especially since I really don't think that our front office is really impressed with damn near anyone in the top 10. I don't really think they like the top two DE's or the top two DT's and I think at this point they don't want to spend the first pick on a WR. I think they are really liking Watt and Jordan, but Watt won't be their at 27, Jordan might and even if those two guys are gone they have shown interest in Heyward who they said would play the under tackle position if they drafted him. I think with extra picks in the 2nd and 3rd round with a front office that has shown to be able to find starter talent in those rounds is a really good thing. You can still find a game changer at 27 and fill so many more holes this way. Regardless if we trade down or not I am just excited to see who are going to be the newest members of the Browns.

Harry Buffalo

Reply to Falcons To Contact The Browns In Trade... It clearly shows that if it's a pick for pick it would have to include Atlanta's 1st pick this year and next with a second round pick either year at the least.

The only way I would think about making this trade is if we get 2 1st rounders, a 2nd rounder and either a player or another 2nd round pick. That is a big jump from 6 to 27.

agreed. if the browns do make a trade with them, i hope they get a fair amount in return.

edit: there would need to be some extra incentitive to pass up on a guy like green. also, how are the wrs looking for next years draft class? that could play a factor in the browns decision. if the draft class for wrs is good, that would help the browns to pull the trigger quickly on an offer like this (if atl actually does make this offer).

SJ_Browns

Reply to Falcons To Contact The Browns In Trade... But the players we get would need to be starters. Maybe the RT we need and a DL or DE.

Thomaspro

Reply to Falcons To Contact The Browns In Trade... I am all for a trade down if it brings in a few more starters and multiple second and 3 round picks along with Atlanta's number 1. If it is without players and only picks it would probably have to be Atlanta's 1st, second, and third.

Thomaspro
