And there is clearly some logic to this guys suggestion.</p>

<p>Unfortuneatly there are a couple of factors that are going against the Browns:</p>
<p> 1. In reality the Browns are in their first year of a new system, not their second or third. The hiring of Shurmur, the switch to the North Coast Offense, the switch to the 4-3 all are just happening this year, not last year or the year before. </p>
<p> 2. The Lockout. This denied the Browns any chance of getting in any decent amount of practice in these new systems. There was no lockout between 2002-1010 in the period this writer analyzed.  </p>
<p>3. He talks about a "franchise QB" taking over....but most of those franchise QBs he mentions had at least a full year or two under their belts. Colt McCoy has what? 4 games. Honesty, this should be looked at as a continuation of his rookie season.</p>
