Mentor defensive lineman Ben Pike made a verbal commitment to play his college football at the University of To ledo next fall.

Pike, a 6-3, 230-pound defensive end, will play that same position for the Division I Rockets, a Mid-American Conference school, Cardinals coach Steve Trivisonno said.

"Toledo will be a good fit for Ben," Trivisonno said. "He did a terrific job for us, and we couldn't be more happy with his decision."
