AFC:

East: Patriots (have a better Division record than Bills and won Head to head with Jets)

North: Ravens #1 seed (win division with better division record than Bengals)

South: Texans

West: Chiefs (better division record than Raiders, head to head win over Chargers)

Wildcards: Bengals and Steelers!!

NFC:

East: Giants

North: Packers #1 seed

South: Saints

West: 49ers

Wildcards: Lions 6-2, and Bears (5-3 same as Falcons, but have better conf. record than ATL)

As always, this is just a snapshot of the way things would be right now, and is subject to volatil change. E.g. both the AFC West and AFC East have three teams tied recordwise, and you have to go to tiebreakers to decide. The AFC North is obviously a 3 horse race.

The NFC South remains competitive.

However, there seem like some pretty sure things or at least good bets: The Niners already have a 5 game lead in their division. Green Bay and the Giants have 2 game leads. Houston seemingly has control of the AFC South.

Reply to If The Playoffs Started Today 11/8/11 on Tue, 08 Nov 2011 16:26:36 GMT

Plus, there are several key games on the schedule this week:

Thursday the Chargers and Raiders face off. And on Sunday, these games:

Bengals vs. Steelers

Saints vs. Falcons (winner will be leader of NFCS)

Lions vs. Bears (Bears are only 1 game behind Detroit)

Pats vs. Jets

Bills vs. Cowboys

and of course the battle of Cleveland teams: Rams vs. Browns

after all, it was only 71 years ago that the Browns ran the Rams out of town, right? Does a grudge still hold for that long?

The Gipper
