AFC

East: Patriots

North: Ravens

South: Texans #1 seed

West: Broncos

Wildcards: Steelers, Bengals

In the hunt: Jets, Titans, Raiders

NFC

East: Cowboys

North: Packers #1 seed * have already clinched division

South: Saints

West: 49ers * have already clinched division

Wildcards: Bears, Falcons

In the hunt: Lions, Giants

Upcoming games involving contenders:

Houston @ Cincinnati

New Orleans @ Tennessee

Chicago @ Denver

Oakland @ Green Bay

NY Giants @ Dallas

FYI, if the final standings stay the same way as they are above, 5 teams who did not make the playoffs last year would be in the playoffs this year: Bengals, Broncos, Texans, 49ers, Cowboys. That would be like the 15th year in a row that that has happened. Four teams from last year are pretty certain to not repeat: Chiefs, Seahawks, Eagles, Colts. The swing team in the AFC is the Jets. If they get in over the Bengals and Titans and Raiders that number would be reduced to 4. In the NFC if either the Giants or Lions make it over the Bears and Falcons you could add another team that didn't make it last year.
