Round 1

Cleveland Browns: Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina

Jabaal Sheard has enjoyed a solid rookie year, but he's the only Cleveland defensive lineman consistently getting to the quarterback. Jayme Mitchell, playing on the other side, has been a big disappointment for the Browns in 2011.

It's a tough choice between Trent Richardson and Quinton Coples at this juncture. They're the two top available players on the consensus board. I've been going with the former in the past four updates, but Coples is a strong possibility because running backs have dropped in recent years, thanks to overabundance of talent at that position currently in the NFL.

Second pick in Round 1

Cleveland Browns: Cordy Glenn, G, Georgia

The Browns have huge holes at left guard and right tackle that they absolutely have to address this offseason. I'm aware that Eric Steinbach could return, but he's due $6 million. I don't know if Mike Holmgren wants to pay that type of money to a declining 32-year-old player coming off back surgery.

If the Browns let go of Steinbach, they'll have to find someone to fill his shoes because Jason Pinkston is terrible.

Round 2

Cleveland Browns: Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers

If the Browns can't acquire a blue-chip quarterback in the first round, Colt McCoy will be the starter again next year. If that's the case, they'll absolutely have to find him some help at receiver. Cleveland's offense lacks play-makers.

Round 3

Cleveland Browns: Levy Adcock, OT, Oklahoma State

As mentioned, the Browns have major holes at left guard and right tackle. This is their chance to shore up the latter, so Colt McCoy's not running for his life on every down next year.

And in 2013 the Cleveland Browns select.....

Cleveland Browns: C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama

The Browns need multiple upgrades at linebacker in the wake of their shift to the 4-3. They'll probably address this in the 2012 NFL Draft or the next two free agency periods, but you never know.

So in this case we will get a LB in 2013 and a WR in thesecond round from Rutgers

Reply to Found A Mock Draft Everyone Would Love on Thu, 22 Dec 2011 21:15:56 GMT

@<bdi>hoorta</bdi> said:

If you can get him for a decent price I would like to see him back. I think we found that Ogbannaya can keep him fresh longer through games. We need Blackmon or Floyd if they are there.
Well it does happen. The panthers drafted Jimmy Clausen mid 2nd round only to draft Newton 1st overall the next year. I'm not a fan of doing this, but Carolina has good RBs (DeAngelo Williams, Jonathon Stewart) and a #1 WR in Steve Smith. So they weren't desperate for a playmaker in any other offensive position which makes the Newton pick not necessarily a bad thing. And he has played pretty well in his 1st year..

bringbackbrownie2

Reply to Found A Mock Draft Everyone Would Love on Thu, 22 Dec 2011 20:33:00 GMT

@<bdi>harry-buffalo</bdi> said:

Quinton Coples has been compared to Julius Peppers in speed and build. He would make a nasty tandem with Sheard. Clearly Cordy Glenn and Levy Adcock are needed and would help the line tremendously. Glenn also has the size to play tackle if needed. Mohammed Sanu is similar to Greg Little in the fact that he is new to the receiver position. He was scouted out of high school as a safety and then was moved to quarterback as a freshman at Rutgers and now a Receiver the past 2 seasons. He's got great hands and is a potential gamebreaker with his elusiveness.

DawginIT

Reply to Found A Mock Draft Everyone Would Love on Mon, 19 Dec 2011 20:58:50 GMT

Zombo said:

He runs a 4.4 40, hor is that not great speed for a RB.

I don't believe that, but will see at the combine. When I've watched him he gets caught from behind easily. He's got quick feet, but I dont see take it to the house speed on film. Not to mention probably the best O-line in football

CLEVELandMILIDH

Reply to Found A Mock Draft Everyone Would Love on Sun, 18 Dec 2011 17:49:21 GMT

@<bdi>clevelandmilidh</bdi> said:

I'd pass on Richardson that high, he's not going to break nearly as many tackles in the NFL and he doesn't have great speed. He's got good feet and vision but whats made him great in college is breaking tackles. In the NFL he's gonna have a tougher go at it and nobody's gonna fear him taking it the distance. Not really what we need, gotta get a game changer, somebody who makes safeties have to stay in deep coverage and that will open up the middle and run game.
