Love these stats Gipper!

Who's got 13 football titles?

Gotta love that.

Doug

Cleveland/Akron/Canton has these titles:

1920 Akron Pros NFL

1922 Canton Bulldogs NFL

1923 Canton Bulldogs NFL

1924 Cleveland Bulldogs NFL

1945 Cleveland Rams NFL

1946 Cleveland Browns AAFC

1947 Cleveland Browns AAFC

1948 Cleveland Browns AAFC

1949 Cleveland Browns AAFC

1950 Cleveland Browns NFL

1954 Cleveland Browns NFL

1955 Cleveland Browns NFL

1964 Cleveland Browns NFL

That is 13, and by the way, that is more than any other city. Second is Green Bay with 12 football titles, then Chicago with 11.

(only their 2d in 126 years). There are currently 122 major league franchises in the 4 major sports (or 123 if you include the Seattle Supersonics franchise that is currently being held "in trust" or in limbo as were the Browns for 3 years). I am going to give you here the franchises that had waited as long or longer than the Phillies for a title. Where no title has ever been won by a franchise I give that teams Year of Origin (YO). In essence these are all the teams that have not won since 1980 or before:

1980 Dallas Mavericks YO

1979 Pittsburgh Pirates MLB
