<![CDATA[Whitney Mercilus]]>What do some of you think about the Browns picking up Whitney Mercilus either in the late 1st round early second round picks they have. I didn't realize it but it would be a homecoming for him as he played at Akron Garfield.

Obviously a pass rusher by the name of Mercilus has got to be considered.

But as mentioned both will rise and fall depending on this week. I suspect moth are going to fall. Mercilus because he is more quick than fast and he isn't going to impress anyone with his 40 time and Minnfeild because he is going to measure in around 5'9 and only run around a 4.5. But as any smart fan knows, it's not always about the stats at the combine and actual on field production in college takes the cheese in most cases.

Well, in my last post in another thread I commented that the Browns need as much on defense as on offense, including another DE and CB...so, maybe, it would not be outside the realm of common sense if the Browns took both Ming the Mercilus and Chase Minniefield.

Minniefield WILL be available in the second round!!! Mercilus, however, will likely go late in the first. I would take either but if we draft Minniefield in the first I'll be pissed because that's a wasted pick.

Talks about the best CB tandems in NFL history... at the very end it asks who would be #1? He he he... How about Frank's own Chase and Joe Haden? 😁

This is just too good to be true... I'm sure we'll find a way to screw this up, we always do. Could you imagine if we took Clay's boy and had Haden and Chase Minnifield on Defense?

What's more is I'd like to know what happened to THAT Dawgpound? I think that drafting Minnifield would reincarnate the old Dawgpound in ways that no other way could... outside of winning a Superbowl.

I wasn't around for the "Old Dawgpound" but I sure wish I was, the fans and that culture LOOK AMAZING! If we don't come away with Chase Minnifield in April's Draft I'll be one "sick puppy" 🙁

Should we start a Minnifield rally in Cleveland? Is the kid going to be that good or am I reaching here "Dawgs"? This just seems like it makes WAY TOO MUCH SENSE.

I'm at the point that if we got Chase Minnifield I'd be happier than if we drafted Andrew Luck... Why isn't the Dawg Pound all over this pick?

He looks awful on film. He's not a fluid athlete. He's a waist bender. He seems to play with poor leverage. Yet he's remarkably effective and productive against some of the best OLine talent in the country.
