And if he was any good at all he could make in one year the median of what lawyers make in a career.</span></p>

You guys may think it's stupid to turn down the opportunity but look at this way: his dad owns a law firm and he's obviously a smart guy even getting accepted. As long as he succeeds in school he's basically walking into a high paying job where as his other choice is to MAYBE walk on to a practice squad and struggle year to year for a check. <p>You are correct on both counts.  As to the second point, the window is small both in time frame and who can actually enter the window.
