This also brings up another point. Hypothetically speaking, if the Browns land McDaniels (which they won't), do we then make a play for Tebow?

With Tebow ultimately on his way out and McDaniels being the guy who drafted him and the QB situation far from settled in Cleveland, this all seems like a perfect storm in us acquiring Football Jesus.

The next question the becomes: if this all happens, how many of you officially give up on the Browns?

Reply to Josh Mcdaniels Wants To Be In Cleveland on Mon, 24 Dec 2012 16:20:47 GMT

@<bdi>unsympathetic</bdi> said:

McDaniels would be a good OC - nothing else. I don't want him anywhere near the actual control of a team. He is far too insecure to manage the emotions of grown men.

That "combination" is the pu pu platter of suck. Mallett is nothing resembling an upgrade, he's a sideways move at best. Tebow sucks. Lombardi is a far better TV analyst than an actual NFL executive.

Well, I think the same could have been said about Belichick...that he was far too insecure to manage the emotions of grown men. I believe that is absolutely true about his time in Cleveland. However I would add or change one word to your statement: "he was too insecure...or immature...to manage the emotions of grown men". I think BB ultimately became more mature (and secure)...and I think it highly possible that McDaniels could have become more mature..or secure...in dealing with grown men.

Uh, I hate to clue you Tim, but cocaine was a recreational drug in the 1970's. It might be making a come back and that is unfortunate. Good way to kill yourself.

DieHardBrownsFan

Reply to Josh Mcdaniels Wants To Be In Cleveland on Thu, 20 Dec 2012 10:55:03 GMT

@<bdi>the-gipper</bdi> said:

The rumor I heard is a "Package deal" Mike Lombardi, Josh McDaniels, Ryan Mallet. So here is my opinion on each:

Lombardi forms his opinions on players by looking at his sphincter, but when he does decide his sphincter puckers and he gets stubborn. Isn't this the guy that brought the world Clifford Charlton, Mike Junkin, Craig Powell and Jamarcus Russell?

In fairness, I think Marty played a large role in selecting his next LT. I have to give Lombardi a pass on that...and on Russell as well. I don't think any team in the league would have passed on Russell.

As for Mallett, I liked him. Mallett and their 1st rounder for our 1st rounder??

ballpeen

Reply to Josh Mcdaniels Wants To Be In Cleveland on Thu, 20 Dec 2012 02:47:33 GMT

The Bill Belichick tree has produced crap HC's.
I'm pretty sure Mallet was a coke head in college
