Here are brief synopses of the 17 Finalists. Two, Culp and Robinson are nominated by the Senior Committee and voted on separately.  A maximum of 5 of the other 15 Finalists can make it. A max total of 7 plus the 2 Senior nominees can make it.</p>

<p>LARRY ALLEN OT/0G  Sonoma St. 94-05 Cowboys, 06-07 49ers. 7 All Pros, 11 Pro Bowls. NFL All Decade team for the 90s and the 00s.</p>

<p>JEROME BETTIS RB Notre Dame. 93-95 Rams, 96-05 Steelers. Offensive Rookie of year 1995. 13,662 yards is 5th all time.  6 Pro Bowls, 2 All Pros</p>

<p>TIM BROWN WR Notre Dame. 1988-2003 Raiders, 04 Bucs. At retirement was #2 all time in receptions and TD catches. 19,682 kick return yards in addition to being WR. 2 All Pro 9 Pro Bowls</p>

<p>CRIS CARTER WR  Ohio State. 87-89 Eagles, 1990-2001 Vikings, 02 Dolphins. #2 all time in receptions and TD catches at retirement. All Decade 1990s. 3 All Pro 8 Pro Bowl</p>

<p>CURLEY CULP DT Arizona St. 1968-1974 Chiefs, 1974-1980 Oilers, 80-81 Lions. Defensive Player of the Year 1975. 1 All Pro 6 Pro Bowl</p>

<p>ED DEBARTOLO, JR.  Notre Dame. Majority owner of SF 49ers 1977-2000. Won 5 Super Bowls while owner of 49ers, team appeared in 10 NFC title games. NFL Man of the Year 1989. Directed to divest himself as majority owner due to involvement in political corruption in Louisiana.</p>

<p>KEVIN GREENE DE/LB  Auburn. 85-92 Rams, 93-95 Steelers, also played with Panthers and 49ers. 5 Pro Bowls, 3 All Pros. 1990s All Decade team. At retirement was #3 in career sacks.</p>

<p>CHARLES HALEY DE/LB James Madison.  1986-1991 49ers. 1992-1996 Cowboys.  Only player ever to play on 5 winning Super Bowl teams. 2 time Defensive Player of the Year. 5 Pro Bowls, 2 All Pros</p>

<p>ART MODELL   Owner Browns 1961-1995, Ravens 1996-2004. Teams won NFL titles in 1964 and 2000. Served as NFL President and Chairman of Broadcast Committee. Attempted to move Browns, awarded Ravens franchise in lieu. Directed to divest majority ownership of Ravens to avoid bank foreclosure on franchise.</p>

<p>JONATHAN OGDEN OT UCLA 1996-2007 Ravens. 6 All Pro 11 Pro Bowl  2000s All Decade team</p>

<p>The move aside, I believe it was Peter King who said all of his "accomplishments" would have eventually gotten done with or without Art. And as long as Tony Grossi is alive and well, Art will never get in. The Move overshadows anything else positive he ever did- and then he pretty much got unceremoniously drummed out of the league when after the $50 million Baltimore\Maryland bribe still couldn't keep him financially afloat.</p>

<p>JEROME BETTIS RB Notre Dame. 93-95 Rams, 96-05 Steelers. Offensive Rookie of year 1995. 13,662 yards is 5th all time.  6 Pro Bowls, 2 All Pros</p>

<p>TIM BROWN WR Notre Dame. 1988-2003 Raiders, 04 Bucs. At retirement was #2 all time in receptions and TD catches. 19,682 kick return yards in addition to being WR. 2 All Pro 9 Pro Bowls</p>
