I wouldn't worry about specific positions because Horton likes guys who can play more than one spot. Corners who can play safety and OLBs who can move inside. He doesn't spend much time in the base so he's almost certainly finding ways to get guys on the field (like Sheard, Kruger, and Mingo at the same time).

Robertson is the starter because 3-4 teams are moving to smaller, faster ILBs in a passing league, where teams are far more likely to pass against your "base" than 10 years ago. The Steelers ILBs are "229 soaking wet," as DQJ recently said. Horton made a semi-star of Daryl Washington at 225. Both DQJ and Robertson have crazy 10-yard splits, very explosive guys, and Horton loves to rush up the middle.

Horton likes speed which makes sense. He plays forward more than any Browns defense we've watched in forever. Guys like Robertson, Mingo, and Gipson make a ton of sense. I get why he'd like Skrine and his 4.35 speed, look for ways to get him on the field in various packages. I still think McFadden ends up the starter, though.

And the great news: He did a lot with way less last year in Arizona. He was a mad scientist.

On offense, the Browns seemed more quiet but I liked the restraint. They showed respect for serious upside talent at WR in Gordon and Little but also Benjamin by adding only slot possession receivers. Bess is the standout because he's a healthier, more productive version of Danny Amendola, who got more money. They clearly fished around at quarterback but didn't jump at anyone for the sake of it.

Overall, the notion of looking at a lot of young, upside talent and sticking with it, instead of trying to replace it with a 3rd or 4th round pick? Or a second-level talent like Toler? I like it a lot. Guys like Robertson, Gipson, Bademosi, Greco, Cameron, etc., are steals, better players with higher ceilings than guys we could've drafted in four. It's smart to play that out. Basically bonus picks... and good teams always find these players.
