Game 1: Browns have 16-10 lead over Eagles in final minute or so. Lose the game when an int. right in the hands of LJ Fort is dropped. Vick then scores TD to win.

Game 2. Browns lose by the margin of a TD vs. Bengals 34-27, even though they outgain Bungles by a fairly wide margin. Difference in the game is a punt return for TD given up to Pacman Jones. Absence of Joe Haden makes a vast difference as Browns DB do poor job on Bengals WRs.

Game 4. Browns lose by a TD despite challenging Ravens. Final drive to tie the game is thwarted deep in Ravens territory.

Game 7. Browns lose 17-13 to Colts. Potential game winning drive in Colts territory stopped short with under 2 minutes to go on a couple of incomplete passes.

Game 10. Browns lose by FG in OT at Dallas. Browns have lead up til 6 seconds left in game when Cowboys FG ties it. Cowboys tieing drive aided by questionable 35 yard pass interference penalty on Sheldon Brown.

To be fair, the Browns won a few games in equally close fashion, like 7-6 win over Chargers. 20-17 win over Raiders.

And, also to be honest, the Browns last 3 games of the year they were sucko, losing to the Redskins by 17, the Broncos by 18 and the Steelers by 14. Shurmur knew he was a dead man walking at that time and was just going through the motions. While this team perhaps wasn't quite as talent as those 3 teams, previously in the season they had played supposedly more talented teams down to the wire. Not in those give up at the end of the season game. A few breaks in the above 5 games may have changed that attitude. This year with a new, hopefully better coaching staff, and with a year's more experience with our young players, I expect fully half of those type games to be turned around, making the Browns at least a candidate for a .500 record.

Reply to Turnarounds on Sat, 27 Jul 2013 00:20:49 GMT

@<bdi>cuwoohio</bdi> said:

Last year the team seemed to be unsure about themselves from time to time.
