Since the Opening Day is nigh, here is some trivia regarding the Browns opponent....and yea, there is sorta one Ace Ventura related question:

Answers:

1. What is the Browns and Dolphins regular season head to head record?

Browns lead 8-7

2. What is the Browns and Dolphins post season head to head record?

Dolphins lead 2-0. Games were in 1972 when the Browns gave the Dolphins their stiffest test of the year before losing 20-14, and in 1985 Browns blew a 21-3 halftime lead to lose 24-21.

3. The Dolphins have retired 3 player numbers. Name them.

12 for Bob Griese, 13 vor Dan Marino, 39 for Larry Csonka

4. Which player that led the Dolphins in rushing 3 years also played for the Browns?

Karim Abdul Jabbar

5. Which player that led the Dolphins in receiving 4 years also played for the Browns?

Paul Warfield

6. Name 3 Miami Dolphins First Round Draft picks in history that were natives of Northeast Ohio.

Larry Csonka out of Stow and Syracuse

OJ McDuffie out of Gates Mills Hawken and Penn St.

Ted Ginn Jr. out of Glenville and Ohio St.

7. What Ohio native was one of the Founders of the Miami Dolphins?

Danny Thomas, the actor, from Toledo was Dolphins co-founder with Joe Robbie. He later sold out his interest to Robbie.

8. The first major professional level team in Miami were the "Miami Seahawks" who played in the AAFC in 1946. However, that team moved and changed its name after only 1 season. What did the Miami Seahawks become after leaving Miami?

They became the very first version of the Baltimore Colts (AAFC). That Colts franchise was one of the three that merged into the NFL...but only played one year, going 1-11, then folded. But 3 years later the defunct Dallas Texans were reconstituted as the Baltimore Colts...which today plays in Indy.

9. Don Shula coached the Dolphins for 26 seasons. How many of those were losing seasons?

Only two: 1976 when he went 6-8, and 1988 when he went 6-10. In fact, in 33 years including 7 with the Colts and 26 with the Dolphins those were the only two seasons he had that were losers.

Note though that he did have 5 .500 seasons: 1980, 1986, 1989, 1991

10. The Dolphins DID have a live Dolphin in a tank at The Orange Bowl that did tricks when the Dolphins scored. What was that Dolphins name?

Flipper...but to my knowledge only the name was kidnapped from the popular TV series, not the Dolphin itself.

11. What was the Dolphins record against the Buffalo Bills during the 1970s?

20-0

12. In 1995 Dan Marino became the all time NFL career leader in pass completions, passing yard and TD passes. Which 1 person previously held all these record?

Fran Tarkenton

Bonus: In 1995 Dan Marino was hurt for 2 games and could not play. Who started for the Dolphins in his place?

Bernie Kosar.

Actually I was guessing 392 .. as in number of wins Shula had for Dolphins ... but Csonka or Warfield would have been my next guess.
