It's completely unique. I'm just glad they don't have a common mascot/logo

You see every damn high school/college/pro team has the same animal for a mascot.

You see the Brownie, and you know its the Browns.

Had the deal not been worked out for the retention of the Browns franchise here in Cleveland (including the name, history, colors etc. etc.) and Cleveland had been given an expansion franchise to replace the Browns, the odds on favorite for the name of that new franchise was going to be The Bulldogs. It would have been a throwback to the history of the of the Canton/Cleveland Bulldogs of the 20s to have the "new" team have that same name. Plus there was the tie in to the whole "Dawg Pound" thing.

But, it didn't happen, the Cleveland Browns franchise remained and that was good, though I suspect, for me, "the Bulldogs" would have been acceptable name had we had to go that route.
