OK, here is a set of trivia re our next opponent. See how you do:

Final Answers:

1. What is the regular season head to head record Browns vs. Lions?

The Lions lead the Browns 14-4. Despite Detroit being the closest team to Cleveland (as the crow flies...yes, closer than Peetown), the two teams were never in the same conference/division while in the NFL/NFC

2. What is the post season head to head record Browns vs. Lions?

The Lions lead 3-1.

3. A. The Lions last won a postseason game in 1991. Who did they defeat?

The Dallas Cowboys. 38-6

B. How many postseason games have the Lions lost since winning that game in 1991?

They have since lost 6 consecutive postseason games. Two to the Packers and one each to the Eagles/Bucs/Redskins/Saints.

4. Who have the Lions met the most times in postseason play?

The Cleveland Browns, those 4 times. Other than the Browns 4 they have met the Packers and Cowboys twice each.

5. Three different QBs who at some point led the Lions in passing in a season also played for the Browns. Name these 3 QBs.

Milt Plum, Jim Ninowski and Gary Danielson

6. What 4 time Lions Pro Bowl Player retired as a Cleveland Brown, but never played a regular season snap for the Browns?

Chris Spielman

7. What defensive lineman made the Pro Bowl as a member of both the Lions and the Browns?

Shaun Rogers

8. What Lions Hall of Fame player was actually drafted by The Browns?

Dick LeBeau

9. Detroit is not the Lions original home. What is?

The Portsmouth, Ohio Spartans

10. What are the actual, specific colors of the Detroit Lions?

Honolulu Blue and Silver

11. What is the unofficial nickname of the division in which the Lions play?

The Black and Blue Division is most often used, for the tough play that was engaged in there. Though as noted a few others have also been used.

Note this though: for like nearly 30 years this division also included the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

12. Like other long time losing teams, it is claimed that the Lions play under a "curse". What is this curse (and the basis therefore)?

The Curse of Bobby Layne. Layne had led the Lions to 2 championships in the 50s, plus another title game, but in like 1957 he was injured and Tobin Rote QBd the Lions to a win in that year's title game (over the Browns). Before the next season the Lions basically said to Layne that he was over the hill and they traded him to the Steelers. Bobby was pissed because the Steelers were the suckiest franchise in the league at that time, so he "cursed' the Lions by saying that they would not win an NFL title again for 50 years. Well, it has been 56 years and running. And Since 1957 the Lions have won just that one single postseason game in those 56 years (1991 over Dallas).

13. What Classic Soul song did members of the Lions serve as backup singers on?

Marvin Gaye's Whats Going On.

Bonus: The tradition of the Thanksgiving Day NFL game in Detroit predates the Lions. In fact, in the very first NFL season in 1920 had a Thanksgiving day game held in Detroit. What was the name of the Detroit team that played in that game, and who was the opponent?

The Detroit Heralds played the Dayton Triangles.
