Here are the other brother combinations that have played Quarterback in NFL history:

Brian and Jeff Brohm

Josh and John David Booty

Craig and Terry Bradshaw

Koy and Ty Detmer

Tim and Matt Hasselback

Brock and Damon Huard

Peyton and Eli Manning

Luke and Josh McCown

Carson and Jordan Palmer

The ones in bold have started a Super Bowl. The ones in italics are still active. (If others are, let me know)

These represent 9 sets of brothers. The Carrs will be at least the 10th.

Oddly, the Bradshaws were the very first pair of brothers to play QB in the NFL, but apparently there were no brother combinations playing in the league from 1920 to the 1970s when those 2 played. None the first 50 some years, 10 the next about 44 years.

Of course for some part of NFL history the QB position wasn't developed or even called that. You may have had in the 20s/30s 3 halfbacks.....and maybe one or all of them might throw a forward pass. But since the mid 30s with Baugh/Herber and other solidifying the QB as a clear, definitive position on a football team, no brothers played the position.

Reply to Oh Brother Where Art Thou on Wed, 04 Dec 2013 18:04:41 GMT

The Carrs

Both #1 overall picks. Peyton is like #2 all time in most QB statistics, 3 SB titles between them. Two for Eli. I don't think I need to say more.

The Palmers: Carson has had a long fairly productive career. Jordan has been in the league now for 4 years with 3 teams and has all of 15 career pass attempts.

The McCowns have both been Journeymen Backups in their careers:

Josh Booty was picked up as a UFA by the Seahawks in 2001, but cut by them at some point. He was on the Browns practice squad from 2001 to 2003. He went to play baseball, but in 2007 decided to try football again and latched onto the Raider PS

John David Booty was drafted in the 5th round by the Vikings and was on the PS in 2008. Let go in 2009 he was on the Titans PS in 2009. In 2010 he was picked up by the Texans for their PS.

In his rookie season he appeared in 2 games but never threw a single pass. In fact he never threw a pass in the NFL because he was let go and never played again. But, apparently he did make a handoff or two to Earl Campbell.....though Campbell actually threw 2 passes that year to Bradshaw's zero.
