A. What team have the Chargers met the most times in their history in the postseason?

The Titans/Oilers met 4 times. Twice in AFL Championship games

I remember one of these meetings well. It was when a depleted Oiler team beat the Fouts led Air Coryell in one of the biggest upsets ever.

Dan Pastorini was out. Earl Campbell was out. Kenny Burrough played, but was only a decoy

So the Oilers went to SD with:

a back-up QB starting (Gifford Nielsen); and

a back-up RB starting (Rob Carpenter) who played on an ankle so severely sprained that he literally threw down his crutches and went into the game.

It helped a little that Oiler safety, Vernon Perry had a career day intercepting Fouts 4 times.

Here are some questions about the Division Round matchups and some other general Postseason Trivia:

Since this has been up all week, I will give the Final Answers:

1. Here are the 8 teams left in the playoffs. Simply give the last year each of these teams won a Championship. And if they have won no title, give that franchises Year of Origin:

Carolina Panthers: YO 1995 no titles

Denver Broncos: 1998

Indianapolis Colts: 2006

New England Patriots: 2004

San Diego Chargers: 1963

San Francisco 49ers 1994

Seattle Seahawks: YO 1976 no titles

2. The Seahawks and the Saints have met once before in the postseason. When was that and what was the result?

the 7-9 Seahawks beat the Saints in Seattle 41-36 in the 2010 season playoffs.

3. The Panthers and 49ers have never met in the Postseason before. Being a new franchise, the Panthers postseason appearances are limited. However, there is one team that they have played twice in the postseason in their history. What is that team?

The Dallas Cowboys...and the Panthers won both games in 1996 by 26-17 and 2003 by 29-10

4. Despite being together in the same division now for 53 years, the Chargers and the Broncos have never met in the postseason....until now:

A. What team have the Chargers met the most times in their history in the postseason?

The Titans/Oilers met 4 times. Twice in AFL Championship games

B. What team have the Broncos met the most times in their history in the postseason?

The Steelers 7 times

5. The Colts and the Patriots are meeting for the 4th time in the postseason next week. What is the result of the previous three meetings between these teams?

Pats lead 2 wins to 1. 2003 Pats win 24-14, 2004 Pats win 20-3, 2006 Colts win 38-34

6. Who holds the all time postseason record for most career passing yards? (all postseason games)

Tom Brady 5949 yards

7. Who holds the al time postseason record for most career Touchdown passes?

Joe Montana has 45. (but Brady has 42 and could pass Joe Cool this postseason)

8. Who holds the all time career Postseason record for most average Passing Yards per game?

This is why I said it was a bit of a trick question....because this stat did not require a minimum number of games. One game would suffice.....and the answer is:

Kelly Holcomb with a 429 ypg average for his one game against the Steelers for the Browns.

9. Who holds the record for most rushing yards in a postseason game?

Eric Dickerson ran for 248 yards vs. the Cowboys in a 1986 postseason game.

10. Who holds the record for most passing yards in a postseason game?

Bernie Kosar with 489 yards vs. the Jets on 1/3/1987 (1986 season)

FYI, Holcomb's 429 yards is 6th best in postseason play

11. Which QB has thrown the highest percentage of his postseason throws for a TD? i.e. highest career TD%

Waddaya know....another Cleveland Brown contributes to this: Don Strock threw for a TD in 9.3% of his postseason passes.

(He had a few postseason games...recall the famous game vs. Chargers, and he played for the Browns vs. Oilers in 1988 playoffs.)

12. Which QB holds the record for having taken the most career sacks?

Joe Flacco has been sacked 27 times in his postseason career.

Here are some questions about the Division Round matchups and some other general Postseason Trivia:

1. Here are the 8 teams left in the playoffs. Simply give the last year each of these teams won a title of any kind. And if they have won no title, give that franchises Year of Origin:

Of any kind? Including Divisional Titles?

Titles....Championship. Nothing else matters. I fixed the confusing language of the original question.

2. The Seahawks and the Saints have met once before in the postseason. When was that and what was the result? ???

3. The Panthers and 49ers have never met in the Postseason before. Being a new franchise, the Panthers postseason appearances are limited. However, there is one team that they have played twice in the postseason in their history. What is that team?

Has to be a perennial... Cowboys or Packers?? Guess Cowboys

Check on Cowboys

4. Despite being together in the same division now for 53 years, the Chargers and the Broncos have never met in the postseason....until now:

A. What team have the Chargers met the most times in their history in the postseason? Dolphins? n NO

B. What team have the Broncos met the most times in their history in the postseason? Raiders? NO

5. The Colts and the Patriots are meeting for the 4th time in the postseason next week. What is the result of the previous three meetings between these teams? I think the Pats are up 2-1 and the winner has gone on to win the SB.... You are absolutely right.

6. Who holds the all time postseason record for most career passing yards? (all postseason games) I'll go with Brady Check

7. Who holds the al time postseason record for most career Touchdown passes? Again... Brady... NO

8. Who holds the all time career Postseason record for most average Passing Yards per game?

Seems like a good spot for an indoor guy on a pass oriented team... how 'bout Kurt Warner? No. Hint: while not intended to be, this could be considered somewhat of a trick question

9. Who holds the record for most rushing yards in a postseason game?

Seem to remember both Emmett and Walter runing wild in a postseason game... I'll go with Emmett Smith

Neither

10. Who holds the record for most passing yards in a postseason game? Gotta be Fouts in that multi-OT game against the Fins...

NO

11. Which QB has thrown the highest percentage of his postseason throws for a TD? i.e. highest career TD%

Has to be a run oriented team... Staubach or Bradshaw??? I'll guess Bradshaw.

Neither

12. Which QB holds the record for having taken the most career sacks? Farve? NO
