Stu stole all his "catch-phrases" from rappers and already established national sports anchors. He grew up in the suburbs but tried to act hood. He was a racist caricature and a buffoon. I had to run for the remote every time he appeared on my TV. He had zero talent. Too harsh, maybe. He may have been the nicest person ever, but I can only judge him by his on-air persona.

He brought that funny, off-collar vibe that almost comes as standard now for Sportscenter. He's a legend and a good dude and one of the few reasons I still tuned in.

Living so close to Bristol, CT, we sometimes look at ESPN as a 'local' station, rather than the National / International channel it is.

We will miss SS and God Bless his wife and two daughters.
