The Muslim "arbiters" called themselves attorneys, meaning they had legal degrees. As long as they didn't actually go to court and pretend to be attorney this is just a ceist and deist letter, multiple infractions could warrant more(they had even updated the site already)

The simple answer is no as long as both parties agree to them being the arbitrator. This is outside the courts(hence why Judge Judy is considered "retired").
