1. I have shot revolvers a lot. I can still operate a pump shotgun as fast or faster than a revolver.

In something that can take a big bear or big anything down, you are much more likely to get on target faster after your first shot with a pump shotgun/slug than with a handgun loaded for anything capable of taking a big bear. It takes a lot of practice to have a quick follow up shot with a heavy loaded 44 mag or a 454 casull or whatever handgun load.

"assualt weapons", and the comments were mostly about guys who

said they'd go out and buy the cheapest carbines etc, to sell them for

$2000 bucks apiece, and then they'd go out and get themselves a

nice, expensive AR-15. That just struck me as hilarious.

A lot more .45 slugs with a semi auto than a shotgun.

American made SCCY CTX-1. Not a widespread name at all. That's the trouble.

I use the extension on the clip to better fit my hand. It's a tad small on the grip, but it's

very easy to conceal.

It depends. If you are hiking over rough terrain in bear country... a .45 pistol...

a shotgun would make a big bear or hog angry. If the rifle is no problem to carry, then I'd go with the 30-06.

It's the freedom to choose, own, and carry that is my point. Semi-auto is more to my liking.

The 21 foot rule. Say, a bear or hog or crazedonbathsaltshippiewithamachete comes out from a bush

right at you from 28 feet away. They say it takes only about 1.x seconds for a human being to get to you from 21 feet.

Bear and hog can burst a lot faster. Say you have 3 seconds at 30 feet. You're hiking in Yellowstone, on your farm, whatever.

In that 3 seconds, you don't want to have just a shotgun or bolt action rifle. Semi-auto is what you will want to have.

In three seconds? If I already carry one in the chamber with semi auto, I could probably get two shots off. Three wolves

in Canada or Alaska ? I want more than six shots with a revolver. they say a lot of shots to the head of a hog bounce off.

And grizzlies, I suppose you need to aim right to drop one fast enough.

Which reminds me, I still want to get night sights on my pistol, except they are pinned in, and I have to take

it to the gunsmith.... if I can find the right sights to put on it.

The last part isn't true. Try living in back country Arkansas, one example, with a wild population of

wild boar. Going on vacation to Yellowstone.... being threatened with being shot on your own farm by some nut

apparently on something, because you don't allow hunting...(unless it's me...) in your woods...

Single shots don't make it. Not very many people live restricted to a one sq mile area for

most of their life...like woody and chris....
