Here you go....some short biopics on various former Browns first round picks. See if you can guess who the person is from the quib:

I think I will finish this off.....won't be much interest once the draft picks are announced:

1. Younger brother of a Hall of Famer, he played at a small Texas school.

Marvin Upshaw DE, younger brother of Gene Upshaw HOF guard. Marvin went to Trinity Univ. in San Antonio.

2. From UMass, died of a heart attack one week before scheduled to be inducted into the College Football HOF

TE Milt Morin

3. TCU DB, later Browns HC.

Jim Shofner. Served as interim HC of Browns after I believe Bud Carson was canned.

4. ESPN at some point said he was the 8th biggest draft bust in NFL history.

Mike "Mad Dog in a Meat Market" Junkin. The article by ESPN was probably some years ago. While Junkin is a pure bust for sure...the Browns have had several just as bad or worse since then.

5. He c-c-couldn't t-t-talk about his g-g-generation nor call plays b-b-because of his s-s-stuttering.

B-B-Bobbobboby G-G-Garrett-tt-tt. First overall pick of the 1954 draft. QB from Stanford......but not a Luck or Elway. His stuttering was so bad he could not call plays at the line of scrimmage, and the coaches had to sit him down just to get a play called.

6. NFL All Decade Team member. Conflict with Nick Skorich caused him to retire.

WR Gary Collins

7. Aggie fans hate him, and later in his career he was traded along with 2 draft picks for the draft pick that was chosen to take Ryan Leaf.

Eric Metcalf. (it was the Falcons I believe who acquired him from the Chargers)

8. Born in Wichita. In offseason breeds Bulldogs. Still plays for Titans.

Kameron Wimbley (unlike Vick....he takes care of his dogs.)

9. First ever draft pick taken by the Cleveland Browns as a member of the NFL.

RB Ken Carpenter

10. Just sold his Honda dealership in Cuyahoga Falls.

RB Mike Pruitt

11. Defensive back whose brother played DT in the NFL. Both died of the same cause.

Don Rogers who died of a cocaine overdose in like 1984. His brother was Reggie Rogers, also died of cocaine overdose in like 2000.

12. His father was a boxer, and it helped in his training to kick alien ass.

Jim Brown.....remember The Attack of the Martians?

13. His grandfajah was born in Jeffersonville Ohio and became a boxing and track and field coach for The Citadel. His Dad now lives in Charleston and his dad ran a company known as Pertec Peripherals. Oh, yea, and some of his other family played football too.

Other family was the clue: Clay Matthews.

14. Born in Clinton Maryland, Originally committed to Penn State but went to school in Texas instead. Was all Rookie NFL.

Phil Taylor

15. First name is actually "Javon". He won the Academic Heisman Trophy. Born in Santa Barbara.

Actually I have always admired how well Metcalf played both in college (where he lost to us every year he play) :lol: and as a pro.

I don't really research, and have no idea what school most players went to. Brother of hall of famer drafted by the Browns? Can't be many of those around.

Vaguely close? Well, both schools involved are West of the Mississippi...but they are still about 1500 miles apart.
