The problem with the Browns has been the inability to survive an injury..at ANY position.  They have had some decent starters....our offense was littered with all-stars in 2007...but a couple of injuries and suddenly that vaunted offense was nothing but a bunch of scrubs.</p>

<p>
Now, look at NE.  They get an injury...and the next guy steps in and performs at a level that allows the team to continue to utilize their normal game plan...and in many cases at a high level.</p>

<p>
So, instead of building from the top down (all star players as starters but no depth) the Browns have finally decided to address the bottom line...DEPTH.  Now, when we get a top notch player...we have a backup to him and can survive an injury.</p>

<p>
We may not get much better this year...but by next year we will have 2 drafts worth of new blood and talent that will not only have talent...but depth behind it..giving us the ability to draft for BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE..and not for need.</p>

<p>
I like the plan...and hope we have the intelligence as fans (and ownership) to let it work.</p>
