<p>I think they want him to compete to start, and will re-sign him this offseason if he succeeds. They have the cap room to add their franchise QB.</p>

<p>I'd say this lessens the chance they take Goff or Wentz, but I wouldn't rule them out, or rule out a 4th rounder, or later.</p>

We keep talking about who we want but who wants to come here is the real question and what do we have to choose from. <p>I was responding to someone mentioning that next year the quarterback crop might be better. Unless we go 0 and 16 we won't be able to get that top guy anyway.</p>

<p>To your point how many of those quarterbacks were failures on their original team or traded quickly?</p>
