<![CDATA[Draft/Pro Bowl Breakdown since 2000]]>Per Request here is a thread on the draft and who made the Pro Bowl from the various rounds at various positions. I am starting this only from the 2000 draft. (thus the numbers of the likes of Peyton Manning/Donovan McNabb will not be on here) Lets start with the obvious: Quarterback.

Round 1: Quarterbacks drafted in round one of the draft since 2000 have made 40 Pro Bowl appearances. Of these 28 of those appearances have been by QBs drafted in the Top 5.

(16 different QBs....most: 5 each by Rivers #4/Rodgers #24)

Round 2: 12 Pro Bowl appearances (9 by Drew Brees, drafted #32)

Round 3: 6 Pro Bowl appearances.

Round 4: None

Round 5: None

Round 6: 15 PB appearances (11 by Brady....but also one by DA). (plus Tyrod Taylor/Marc Bulger

Round 7: 1 PB appearance. Matt Cassell.

Yea, I don't know....that is all the database came up with. (again....it may be that many of those PB spots were taken up much by players drafted pre-2000. The Marvin Harrisonss/Tim Browns/Chris Carter/T.Os Maybe, at that position, the older players were more predominate.

Round 1: 52 Pro Bowl appearances. 30 of these by players drafted in the Top 5 led by Joe Thomas with 9.

Round 2: 11 Pro Bowl appearances.

Round 3. 6 Pro Bowls

Round 4: 11 Pro Bowls

Round 5: 2 Pro Bowls

Round 6: None

Round 7: None

This appears to be THE most Top Heavy position in terms of players making the Pro Bowl. So, Sorry....it is BS that great OTs at least can be had anywhere. You want a good one.....you need to get one early.

I mean, you then get dalton, brees, kaepernick, carr for starters, probably half a dozen between them.

I think the take away is that unless you luck in to a tom brady (russell wilson for the next generation), your franchise QB will come in the first or early second round.

Yep....and if you were to throw out Brady at the bottom....that ratio would be much higher.

(Also...FYI...yes, I am not taking into account UDFAs, as I said. Besides Romo....or maybe Jake Delhomme...do you know of any other UDFA QB that would have made Pro Bowl?)

Just a note: Brady and Brees, non 1st rounders, have more PBs than any first rounder...Brady more than double)

Round 1: 30 Pro Bowl appearances. Only 1 by a Top 5 pick: Ronnie Brown. Nine by Top 10 picks....7 of those by Adrian Peterson (CJ Spiller....1 PB)

Round 2: 16 Pro Bowl appearances.

Round 3. 11 PBS

Round 4. 7 PBs

Round 5. 3 PBs

Round 6. 4 Pro Bowls

Round 7: 1 Pro Bowl.

(of course, none of this takes into account any UDFAs that may have mad a PB.)
