That does give us a better chance to win. But, we have injury issues as well. I'm hoping for the win but the bungholes still have a better O and D line. A better chance to win? Yes.
There's always opening day 2017 Mud. I just looked up the Vegas odds. I'm no gambler, but does this mean a $10 buck bet week four could have netted you $20,000 if they lose out? Hoorta needs a new car.

"Just how bad could this Browns season be? Online sportsbook Sports Interaction is offering odds on Cleveland going winless this year, as oddsmakers have tabbed the Browns with a +145 chance of finishing 0-16. Entering Week 4, those odds were available at +2000.

According to Prediction Machine, the Browns have a 23.4 percent chance of losing every game from here on out.
Coming off our bye, depends if the Bengals have mailed it in- the Browns probably haven't- too hungry for a win. I could see that game as a pick 'em, or even have the Browns slightly favored. Might have a shot at the Chargers too.

I also counted in the current record (read that wins) of teams the Browns and 49ers have yet to play. It's projected over the entire 17 week season. Will that # change?
Yeah- I just took a look at that Gip, and I'm worried. Only sure way to get that #1 overall is to lose out.

IIRC it's not "division SoS, it's overall SoS. OK, probably a little early to do the projection. But I did. First, throw out the 5 common opponents (Cowboys, Pats, ect.) Insert current records of teams yet to be played. Give the Browns a win somewhere down the road.

Browns have played the tougher schedule Pick second.

Throwing out the non-common games.....

49ers finish with Bears, Falcons, Rams Seahawks. (49ers best chance at another win)

Browns finish with Bungles, (Bills), Chargers, Steelers.

Bump. In the race to #1. Darn, the Niners almost pulled it out against Miami. Here's the update. San Fran better beat the Bears- because it just got worse. In case of identical records, San Fran picks first. Their opponents have 54 wins, the Browns 60.

hoorta

Reply to If the Playoffs started today 11/15/16 on Wed, 16 Nov 2016 18:39:37 GMT

@<bdi>texasag1969</bdi> said:

But we have to win 2 to "lose" the race due to division strength of schedule.

Insert current records of teams yet to be played. Assume both the 49ers and the Browns both lose this week. Give the Browns a win somewhere down the road.

Browns have played the tougher schedule (by two more opponent wins to date). Pick second.

Throwing out the non-common games.....

49ers finish with Falcons, Bears, Rams Seahawks. (49ers best chance at another win)

Browns finish with Giants, Bungles, Chargers, Steelers.

I'll call the Falcons\Giants games a wash as to record. In the race for the #1 overall, the Browns losing to both the Bungles and Steelers would be very bad. (Ups their win total)

So, in a nutshell, root for the Falcons and Seahawks to win, and everyone left on the Browns non-division schedule to lose.

hoorta

Reply to If the Playoffs started today 11/15/16 on Wed, 16 Nov 2016 17:24:25 GMT

@<bdi>texasag1969</bdi> said:

But we have to win 2 to "lose" the race due to division strength of schedule.
