<p>Meanwhile, air pollution casualties runs into hundreds of thousands (in the US), to say nothing about respiratory diseases.</p>

<p>Of course, that would need to be scaled to the number of power plants of each type. There are around 500 fossil fuel plants in the US.  That puts it at around 400 deaths per power plant.</p>

<p>There are plenty of other concerns - global warming from fossil fuel vs literal fallout from nuclear disasters, but those are becoming a lot more rare.</p>

<p>I don't see anyone scared of the electoral college. <p>The electoral college isnt' going anywhere, some people are going to have to learn to deal with it.<span style="color:#ff0000"> The first obstacle is polls showing popular support for the electoral college. </span>The second obstacle is it would need approval of 2/3 rds in the Senate and the House and finally voter approved in 38 states.
