We have some interesting playmakers at wide receiver but we obviously don't have a quarterback to utilize their skill sets.

I think Kessler is a fine game manager who is smart and accurate, but will never strike fear in an opposing defense. This year's qb class is filled with developmental guys and long shots. So there is no way with all of the holes on this team do I gamble a high pick on one of them.

I don't think Crowell is a starting running back, he lacks balance and rarely breaks a tackle. Duke Johnson should have been our starter this year to see if he can hold up for a full season as our feature back. Johnson does alot of things very well so he will always have a spot on an nfl roster.

Fournette will also help out our defense by not only keeping them fresh, but it will keep the offense on the sidelines preventing them from getting and keeping the momentum.

I'm usually one of those people that will say running backs are a dime a dozen, but Fournette has a little leveon bell in him and I think making him the center piece of our offense will help out our entire team more than anyone else in this draft.

Reply to My case for Fournette #1 overall on Mon, 02 Jan 2017 17:21:55 GMT

@<bdi>tour2ma</bdi> said:

Its never that simple...I agree....

But...we abandoned the run too soon.....when we had no passing game to replace it.....

Ill stick with my main bitch.....which is....you go with what works and, this year, the only thing that worked was the running game....

Things are never that simple are they?

Bito went down in game 5; Greco in game 12. Our opening, four-game string of 120+ yd rushing ended in game 5. Since then we've had 3 in excess of that mark, two of which were vs. Cinci.

Game 5 was the Pats. They held us to a season low 27 yd rushing. They showed how to do what the first four games told teams they had to do... make us beat them through the air. Bito's loss simply made doing so easier.

Perine stats are incredible and in 2014 minus Joe Mixon he was phenomenal. If Perine stays healthy, which has been a problem in 15 & 16, he'll be a top 3-5 back in 2017. Stoops did what he did because Keith Ford, who is solid, isn't in the same discussion as Mixon or Perine.
