Here is a short set of question about the Browns drafting history, and how it may relate to some current draft issues:

1.Browns have the #1 overall pick. Name all those persons the Browns have taken with the #1 overall pick of the regular draft.

Phipps, Ernie Davis and Couch... all the names I can think of, but I know we took a QB first overall back in the 50's (seems like it was in a recent trivia set)... no idea on the name. I know JB was not #1 overall.

Kosar was a #1 in the supplemental so you missed a trick question opportunity by making this "regular draft" instead of just "draft".

Only Couch is correct. Phipps was #3 overall, and Davis was not a Browns draft choice (plus, I do not believe he was #1 overall anyway..he was drafted by the Redskins, then traded for). Plus, yes, I did not want to muddy the waters with Kosar, even though you are right about him being a #1 supp pick.)

2. Browns have the #12 overall pick. Name all those person the Browns have taken with the #12 overall pick in the draft in their history. Hint: 4 names

No clue... but seems like Danny was around 12.

We've had a lot of midling picks in my lifetime... so WAG time...

Pretty sure either Chip or Clay was around mid-round... seems like Chip was a higher pick tho... I'll go with Clay.

Maybe a RB? William Green was a middle-ish "steal" or so we thought. Ditto-ish for a better result: Eric Metcalf?

Both Shelton and Clay Matthews are correct. Chip Banks I think was a #3 overall. The others you have to go way back for.

3. Talk is of the Browns taking a DE with their first pick. In their history the Browns have drafted 5 designated DEs in the first round of the draft. Name these 5 DEs.

Way back there was Mack Mitchell. Further back I know we drafted Doug Atkins... who went on to a HOF career with da Bears.

More recently... Courtney Brown, Mingo-licious, and...

Atkins, Mitchell and Brown correct. Mingo was listed as an OLB not as DE for what that's worth. Two others, one recent, one going back.

4. Talk is of taking a QB with one of the Browns first round picks. Of all the Browns QBs taken in the first round of the regular draft, which one had the best won-loss record with the Browns?

... likely Phipps... was strictly a .500-ish QB.

Phipps is right.

5. Late round picks in the NFL draft are considered to have little value and the players considered to have little chance of success. However, the Browns have drafted 2 players in the past in the 7th round who made the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Name these two players. Hint....they were taken when the draft had more than 7 rounds.

Old timey stuff... right in my wheelhouse... or should be...

Pretty sure Hickerson was one.

You did not specify that the ones we picked made the HOF as players, so I'll go with Chuck Noll as my other.

Hickerson is right. Noll was actually a 20th round pick

6. There has also been some talk of drafting a TE in this draft. In the past, the Browns have drafte 5 Tight Ends who have made a Pro Bowl. (any round). Name these 5 TEs.

Milt Morin, Winslow Jr., Jordan Cam, Johnny Brewer(?),

These are all correct, but gee you missed one, can you think who that may be?

7. A. Talk is of taking Garrett out of Texas A&M at #1. Name all previous players from Texas A&M that the Browns have drafted in the first round.

Not that many overall... I think we may have actually taken more from TAMU extension schools than the main campus.

JFF... still painful.

We went there a couple times in late 70's (early 80's?)... Risen was one of the good ones and there was an LB... Jackson(?) or Johnson(?) about the same time... taken pretty high, too IIRC.

Has to be a couple from Bear's old Junction City days, but I've not even a WAG for them...

Nope, JFF and Robert Jackson are correct.

B. Who is the best player the Browns have ever drafted out of Texas A&M? And note, by implication...he was not taken in round 1.

Not a mind reader, but I say Cody Risen.

Check on Risien.

8. Talk is of taking the QB from North Carolina in the first round. Who is the best player the Browns have ever drafted out of North Carolina.

Greg Little... and he will forever be the best player we've ever drafted out of UNC...

Little is correct, and surely we can do better.

4. Talk is of taking a QB with one of the Browns first round picks. Of all the Browns QBs taken in the first round of the regular draft, which one had the best won-loss record with the Browns?
