I would consider taking Pryor back for the right price. Especially now with a strong OC like Haley to keep him in line. (can be undisciplined in games)

Watkins would be an improvement on Coleman.

If Josh somehow makes it through the year, we'll franchise his butt so fast it wouldn't be funny. Keeps him on our team for another year, and gives him a fat payday. I think we both win if that happens. If Josh tests positive or screws up, he's suspended and we do not have to pay him the big bucks, right?

I'm just gonna enjoy whatever good should come out of Gordon.. If he Shmucks up.. He's got no one but him self to blam.. You can;t blame the Browns for taking a gamble for what potentially could be there with this kid.. Good or bad.. I'm ok with it.. Let the chips fall where they may.. I hope he makes it.. despite obvious odds against him.

I mean, I TOTALLY get what you are saying. Odds are, you're right. History tells us Josh won't be a productive member of our team. I get it. But here's the thing...OTHER teams obviously know that too, so what is a realistic trade value? Teams absolutely COVET draft picks, and I don't see anyone parting with anything lower than a 4th round pick, and maybe not even THAT high. Now obviously this is just my opinion, and I could be way off. Perhaps there's a team out there who feels strongly in Josh's rehabilitation and would be willing to risk a 3rd rounder, but I really don't see it.

Here's another thing that people might be forgetting: Josh Gordon is COMPLETELY cheap. I don't remember what his number is for 2018, but I want to say it's $2 million or less. That's just dumb. We have potentially the best WR in the league, on our team, for a mega cheap price. So to me, the risk versus reward is totally in our favor. Suppose we get a 4th round pick for Gordon. Can anybody tell me what the percentage is for a 4th round pick to become a meaningful, impact starter? Do I need to go through OUR teams last five 4th round picks?

Josh Gordon came clean, FINALLY. That doesn't mean he's going to make it, but it's certainly a good start, and it's different from the past. Our team has stuck it out with Josh, given him so many chances, and could now finally reap the benefit. Why trade him now? Do you have any idea how difficult receivers like Josh are to find? How long did the infamous "Julio Jones Trade" completely screw us? So say the worst case scenario happens, Josh gets suspended again, and we didn't get to trade him for the draft pick. We missed out on a later round pick and that's it. Who cares? Have you seen how many picks we have right now? A stupid amount. If a team was offering a 2nd round pick for Josh, I might THINK about it, but that's not happening...no way. I don't even think teams would consider a THIRD rounder.

There's something to be said for loyalty. If we continue to stick with Josh and he makes it, he'll forever be loyal to our team. Addicts who make it through to continued recovery never forget the people who didn't give up on them. We need Josh Gordon every bit as much as he needs us. And here's something else....any free agent QB we court is going to want Josh Gordon on the field, believe that. As risky as keeping him is, Gordon is still a selling point for our team because he literally opens up the entire offense. Can you imagine having Landry out there with him, Njoku in the seam, Corey out wide, and Duke underneath? That's actually....uhhh....dangerous? Of course, Josh has to stay clean and Corey healthy, but hey, it's freaking time to get some things going our way.

I understand you're point of view, and statistically, you're probably right. But I think we need to take a risk on having a prolific playmaker on our roster. Someone who could REALLY help whichever QB we start this year. Wouldn't that be nice? Kizer didn't play well, we know this, but our team didn't exactly do much to help the kid out. Let's not make the same mistake with the new QB.

And now Landry just got franchise tagged. ARRRRGGGHHHH! My main thing with Gordon is I've seen 1 TD from him since 2013 so there's been a lot of Linus in a Pumpkin Patch waiting on him. Thanks for the reply - you made some good points!

Understanding it's 2018, the last time we got more than 5 starts out of him was all the way back in 2013 (also the last time he had more than 1 TD reception in a season). That equates to WAY TOO MUCH best WR in the league not being reliable enough off the field to play on the field. More specifically, the idea of Josh was way better than the reality of him.

I enjoyed the comeback story of Gordon last year. I really did. I think it might have been good enough to stir up some interest around the league (at least way more than previously). And, I DO have an idea of what he could do with an Aaron Rodgers or a Tom Brady that may not have too many years left. That's why I think he might have more exchange value than you give him credit for. We won't know if we don't try. And, if he fails 1 more test - we're right back to getting nothing for having him here anyway right?

Like I've said, we have the MOST spending money of any team in the league this off season so we can sign a Pro Bowl WR like Jarvis Landry prior to trading Gordon.

Trading Josh has been kicked around, but the problem is we would never get anything close to comparable value for him. You may laugh at me, but Josh is the best receiver in the league...when in shape and fully committed. You saw what he could do with limited practice time and a struggling qb. Do you have any idea what he'd do with Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady?

I don't feel like WR needs to be addressed in the draft, as I believe we can fix it in free agency. Heck, even if we just sign Pryor, I'm happy with Pryor, Gordon, Coleman, Higgins, and whoever else we have on the roster. Bring back Jordan Leslie, that guy rocked but got hurt. Considering the history of Coleman and Gordon, we'd likely have to sign another guy and draft one SOMEWHERE, but not first round.

He's the closest thing to a complete WR the BROWNS have.....when he's actually here plus without a complimentary WR or even good, scary TE he gets all of the defensive attention.

 Draft Ridley in R1?

depends on if they can sign a top FS free agent, I think. There are no wr's rated high enough to go at 4, so it would be a trade down...

I'm fine with keeping Gordon til the first time he goes backwards, although he may never do that again. Seems

that he really is genuinely wanting to be that player he could have been - he has the ABILITY. Sure you keep him.

Yeah, we're not far apart at all in wanting the WR Corps FINALLY adequate. I'm "getting Jiggy with it" too - we're way overdue my man.

So, another option would be to trade Gordon while it looks like he has his life in order for however long it will be is to package him and Baylor buddy Coleman to an interested taker. Some of the need to win THIS year teams will be interested. Jerry Jones get sequoia wood factors on those kids that played high school/college ball in Texas so he might be ambitious. If so, we re-sign Pryor after we have added Landry in FA. Then we also draft ourselves a WR like Anthony Miller or an equivalent in round 2 or 3. Here's a video featuring Memphis' Anthony Miller:

Just as much as our WR Corps needs a talent over haul - we need better guys at covering all the teams that always have much better WR Corps than our's. I'm kind of pumped at our amount to spend as well as our volume of high round picks. We even have some trade bait that can help us further with this for once...

Josh's value isn't just his direct contribution, but what he does for others. Remember that amazing 58 yard TD by Higgins? That was largely made possible by Josh commanding so much attention. Additionally, he's a stout blocker down field. He can easily beat press coverage, he's wicked in the slot, and he's a terrific "big play" guy, which is something our team just didn't have without him. Remember that stunning bomb against Pittsburgh? Kizer threw the best pass of his life to Gordon who was the only receiver running down the field. Steelers knew it was going to him and still couldn't stop it. THAT'S difficult to part with.

It's difficult to place a value on that caliber of player when you add in the fact that he's missed the better part of 3 years for substance abuse issues. How do you even try to get value? If you get a 3rd round pick, and Gordon stays on the field and goes for 1600 yards and 12 tds, Browns fans will absolutely lose their minds. Heck, I doubt you'd be able to get a 3rd rounder, more likely it'd be a 4th at BEST. And honestly, what are the chances a 4th or 5th round guy makes the team and develops into a contributer? To me, you keep Gordon hands DOWN. We've invested so much time in the man, and when it comes to addicts, you never know when they'll figure it out. Sometimes it's never, but other times they finally figure out what works for them, how to beat back the demons, and take back control of their lives. I wouldn't trade Josh, not now. He came back in 2017 for 5 games and from everything Hue said, was a model teammate. He was on time for meetings and practice. And best of all? He looked like Josh Gordon on the field. Go back and look at the 1st game he played in at San Diego. He could've had 200 yards EASY if Kizer played a better game. Oh, and an all-pro corner was on him.

As far as I'm concerned, we are damn near at "ground zero" as far as WR goes......

Gordon...Takes plays off IF he remains eligible to play.

Coleman...Oft injured & does little when healthy.

Oh, I'm really counting on these two! Let's bring Pryor back as well...after all, THREE head cases are better than two!!!

Am thinking most teams would have that same thought on Gordon at this time Flug. Not even sure if Chiefs would have considered Gordon in A.Smith trade to combo with T.Hill? Am thinking if Josh is still >WR< Josh going into the trade deadline this upcoming season. may prove to all teams he's a clean football Josh. honestly, i hope he stays a brown

If we get rid of Coleman, who do we have to step in on the roster? Higgins ? Don't see any free agents wanting to come here.
