I wonder if mueller may not be happy this was leaked. This seems like something he's been sitting on as the basis to keep the investigation going. Someone else has essentially played his hand for him.

The lie was to keep secret the negotiations that were ongoing on the Trump Tower Moscow which they did not want America to know about with an election coming up shortly. And is it one thing for the president to be caught in a lie, but another to be actively instruct another to commit the felony of lying to congress under oath. That is not just lying, it's suborning a witness to commit a felony.

I think even if this is able to be proven and right now that is a big IF with the witness being a convicted lying attorney.
