I have been an attorney for nearly 40 years, and a magistrate for nearly 30 years. And as much as anyone I realize that the American legal system at times can be fallible.  There have been people convicted wrongfully who have been cleared later.  There have been people acquitted whom it seems pretty clear were culpable, but some issue or event didn't result in a conviction.Sometimes thing work that way.   For purposes of the criminal charges, OJ is not guilty of the double murder he was charged with.   Do you believe that to be true?   

As for Lewis, he plead to obstruction of justice.  He flipped on his friends who were involved in the killings....and testified against them.  The jury bought his testimony that they acted in self defense.  Well, perhaps, when you have a celebrity witness,  juries sometimes tend to believe them. Let's just say that the verdicts of his friends ended the same way that OJs verdict ended:  Not Guilty  (which...by the way....does NOT mean "innocent"...it just means case not proven.)  Nevertheless, Mr. Lewis did negotiate a substantial civil settlement on the families of those killed on that incident.  No, you won't find any court case on it...because it never made it to court because the families were poor, and the money they were given was good.  So, you won't find a public record of it.   What Ray did do is to do whatever it took to protect his valuable NFL career, be that flip on his companions or make a healthy settlement.   Let's put it this way:  the only definitive thing about that case is that Ray had good lawyers that were able to make maneuver's to save his career.  OK, that was smart, and the system worked for him. That is how the American legal system works.

Didn't know that Gipper. But OJ served less jail time- sure, for a different offense. But most peons get life in prison no parole for premeditated murder. Or 20 years minimum. At least Carruth served some significant time for offing his GF.  

Lewis got off scot free, I believe accessory to murder is a felony.

OJ Simpson.   Roundly believed to be a double murderer

Rae Carruth.   A convicted murderer

Ray Lewis.  Believed to be a participant in a double murder

Aaron Hernandez.  A convicted murderer...and suspected of others.

How can these guys have not made that list...if they were going to include like Ray Rice and others
