I've believed all along this virus escaped from China's viral lab. Now look at the damage, suffering and deaths they have caused the entire world. We are in dire straights because we have exported so much manufacturing of medical drugs and supplies to China that we are now dependent on a country who is not our friend for these vital supplies and medicines. Despite knowing what they did, the WHO continued to push communist China's talking points, including the blatantly false claim that the virus is not spread through human-to-human transmission. This is something we know is the case, which is why the CDC has suggested people practice "social distancing" as much as possible. A few weeks later the WHO said it was unnecessary to restrict international air travel, which is what turned the Wuhan coronavirus epidemic into a pandemic.

Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation Adds Coronavirus Deaths to Tally After China's Coverup

"A group of international policy experts and politicians strongly criticized China's government in an open letter about its coverup and mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic, referring to the botched response as a "Chernobyl moment."

The letter was published Tuesday on the website of Canada's Macdonald-Laurier Institute, a national public policy think tank based in Ottawa. It was signed by more than 100 policy experts, lawmakers and academics who hail largely from North America, Europe and Oceania.

"While the exact source and spread of the virus are not clear yet the question of origin is highly important, for the people of China and for all humankind: only by understanding how this global disaster could emerge we can prevent it from happening again," the letter argued.

To my mind there's another serious flaw in Cal's logic. Based on the above- it's apparent China really didn't know and understand the extent of the problem until weeks later. By that time, hundreds of infected (and probably asymptomatic individuals)  had left Wuhan on routine business trips. The horses were already out of the barn- it was too late. Lies and cover up for Cal who may be one of the few Americans that's got his panties in a major bunch over it? Damn right- to the vast majority of Americans (I'll hazard a guess at 95%+) this crap doesn't even rate as background noise. It's pure conspiracy fantasy that you can (or should) totally shut down a metropolitan area of 11 million people on a day or two notice over a few dozen people exhibiting an unexplained pneumonia.

China has not exported any N95 masks since February 19. 3M said most of the masks made at their Shanghai plant had been sold prior to the pandemic breaking out in China in January. It couldn't confirm when exports of N95s from China will resume.

The shortages of masks and protective gear in the U.S. was also due to shipments from China being halted after the Chinese government banned manufacturers from exporting these items. On the other hand, White House adviser Peter Navarro claimed the shortage of N95 respirators is because China decided to "nationalize effectively 3M, our company."

At the same it banned exports of these critical protective products, China also bought massive amounts of these supplies from other countries in a blatant attempt to corner the market, a White House official said, the Post noted. Official Chinese government data shows China imported 2.46 billion pieces of “epidemic prevention and control materials” between January 24 and February 29 valued at nearly $1.2 billion.
