			<span><strong>Report: JJ Watt, Bill O’Brien had heated exchange that led to ‘player revolt’</strong></span>
		</p>

		<p>
			Steve DelVecchio, Larry Brown Sports  4 hrs ago
		</p>

		<p>
			Bill O’Brien was fired by the Houston Texans this week following an 0-4 start to the season, but the record may have only been a small factor in the team’s decision to move on from its head coach and general manager.
		</p>

		<p>
			In the weeks leading up to his firing, O’Brien reportedly had verbal altercations on the practice field with members of his coaching staff and Texans players. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that one of those players was star defensive lineman JJ Watt.
		</p>

		<p>
			<a href="https://uploads.brownsboard.com/ips/monthly_2020_10/image.png.bedd324de63475dfa2b14336e0f4b015.png" title="Enlarge image" data-fileid="20263"><img alt="image.png.bedd324de63475dfa2b14336e0f4b015.png" data-fileid="20263" src="https://uploads.brownsboard.com/ips/monthly_2020_10/image.png.bedd324de63475dfa2b14336e0f4b015.png" /></a>
		</p>

		<p>
			John Granato of of ESPN 97.5 Houston was given similar information. He was told that the argument between Watt and O’Brien began a “player revolt” that ultimately resulted in O’Brien being fired.
		</p>

		<p>
			<a href="https://uploads.brownsboard.com/ips/monthly_2020_10/image.png.44086fbdc064c84aecc223adcbe49180.png" title="Enlarge image" data-fileid="20264"><img alt="image.png.44086fbdc064c84aecc223adcbe49180.png" data-fileid="20264" src="https://uploads.brownsboard.com/ips/monthly_2020_10/image.png.44086fbdc064c84aecc223adcbe49180.png" /></a>
		</p>

		<p>
			The reports make sense, as one anonymous Texans player said this week that there was a sense of relief in the locker room when O’Brien was let go. Some players may have held a grudge against O’Brien stemming from his decision to trade star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. That trade seemed to be the result of Hopkins and O’Brien not getting along.
		</p>

		<p>
			O’Brien was hired as head coach of the Texans in 2014. He finished with a regular-season record of 52-48 in six-plus seasons. The Texans reached the postseason four times under O’Brien and won two playoff games. While the results on the field were not horrible, it sounds like the locker room dynamic was a different story.

<p>
	Obviously depends upon the price, but...
</p>

<ul><li>
		OLB Zach Cunningham is an impact player and could easily translate to our 4-3... inside or outside. His ILB, a trimmed-down McKinney, has turned into a nice player that could be a 2-down MLB in our 4-3. Either would improve our current LB room.
	</li>
	<li>
		CB-wise they have Hargreaves and, as you mention, Roby. Meh...
	</li>
	<li>
		Safety? I liked Justin Reid in that 2018 Safety class (it wasn't the 2017 Class by a mile, but it did not suck)... still do.

			Have you watched Sam play? He mostly sucks. I was never sold on him. He played on USC when they had better athletes than their opponents. He's another Matt Leinart.

<p>
	You won't get any arguments out me about his sub-par play but look at the number Freddie did to Baker, it may take another year for him to recover. If I remember right Matt choose to bang bitches at USC while in the NFL, and party during the season like a crazy frat-boy.

<p>
	He pretty much was running the whole show in '09, his first season with the Browns.
</p>

<p>
	George Kokinis was an empty suit that was hired AFTER Mangini, and he was fired halfway through the 2009 season. Trust me, Mangini was running the Browns lock, stock and barrel... I and many others on the old board I was on argued for years with the brilliant mind that is Pete Smith (yes, THAT Pete Smith) about how Mangini completely butchered that draft. <span>?</span>

	And given away for a RB who's last decent season was in 2016.....

<p>
	I think Bill tries so hard to imitate Hoodie that he loses his way. You can't just mimic another person 100% and be successful. When Bill found out how much Hops wanted in his next contract, he flipped out and over-reacted.
