	It is time to begin the countdown.  Despite being at just the first quarter poll of the season, there are a few things coming into focus:
</p>

<p>
	If the Playoffs started today, the following teams would be in:
</p>

<p>
	AFCE   Buffalo   4-0
</p>

<p>
	AFCN  Pittsburgh  3-0
</p>

<p>
	AFCS Tennessee  3-0
</p>

<p>
	AFCW  Kansas City  4-0
</p>

<p>
	Wildcards:   Baltimore,  Cleveland,  Indy.  All 3-1
</p>

<p>
	NFCE  Philadelphia   1-2-1
</p>

<p>
	NFCN  Green BAy   4-0
</p>

<p>
	NFCS  Tampa Bay   3-1
</p>

<p>
	NFCW  Seattle  4-0
</p>

<p>
	Wildcards:  Rams and Bears  3-1.  Saints 2-2....over 3 other 2-2 teams because of better conference record.

	I will have to wait until Wednesday to do this next week, as there will be a game Tuesday.
</p>

<p>
	But then....for the NFL schedule,  they are giving Thursday off as that game, Bills/Chiefs has been postponed until Monday night.

	Here is also an interesting statistic I found:    ONLY  7 times since  1920 and None prior to 1963 has a winless team with 4 or more losses  won against an undefeated team with 4 or more wins:
</p>

<p>
	1963  0-4 49ers beat  5-0 Bears
</p>

<p>
	1965  0-6-1  Pats beat  5-0-2  Chargers
</p>

<p>
	1967  0-4 Vikings beat 3-0-1  Packers
</p>

<p>
	1968 0-4 Falcons beat  4-0 Giants
</p>

<p>
	1975 0-4  Packers beat  4-0 Cowboys
</p>

<p>
	1979  0-5 Giants beat  5-0 Buccaneers
</p>

<p>
	2002  0-5 Rams beat  4-0 Raiders.
</p>

<p>
	No such game is happening this week...but it could happen NEXT week, week 6 when the current undefeated Tennessee Titans will play the currently winless Houston Texans.

	6 teams still undefeated this late is pretty rare.   (It helped that a game between 2 of those teams was postponed).
</p>

<p>
	And 4 winless teams this late is also fairly rare.
</p>

<p>
	Note this:  In 2013 and 2010....NO teams made it to  4-0
</p>

<p>
	2002 the last undefeated team was 4-0 before losing,  in 2016  the last team was 5-0 before losing.
</p>

<p>
	On the other hand, note these teams which went at least  10-0 before losing, since the 1970 merger:
</p>

<p>
	2015 Panthers  14-0
</p>

<p>
	2011 Packers 13-0
</p>

<p>
	2009 Colts  14-0
</p>

<p>
	2007  <em>Patriots  18-0</em>
</p>

<p>
	2005  Colts  13-0
</p>

<p>
	<strong>1998 Broncos  13-0</strong>
</p>

<p>
	<strong>1991 Redskins  11-0</strong>
</p>

<p>
	<strong>1990 Giants  10-0</strong>
</p>

<p>
	1990 49ers  10-0
</p>

<p>
	<strong>1985 Bears  12-0</strong>
</p>

<p>
	1984 Dolphins  11-0
</p>

<p>
	1975 Vikings 10-0
</p>

<p>
	<em><strong>1972 Dolphins  17-0</strong></em>
</p>

<p>
	<em>Note:  Italics means undefeated regular season<strong>; Bold means won Championship.   Both means undefeated title winn</strong></em>
</p>

<p>
	Also note,  pre Super Bowl:
</p>

<p>
	Browns  1953  11-0  did not win championship
</p>

<p>
	<em><strong>Browns  1948  14-0  won AAFC title</strong></em>
</p>

<p>
	<em><strong>Only 1948 Browns and 1972 Dolphins have accomplished both undefeated and untied  and  won title. </strong></em>

	Three games this coming week between teams currently "in"  the playoffs:
</p>

<p>
	Bucs  vs. Bears    both 3-1
</p>

<p>
	Browns vs. Colts  both  3-1
</p>

<p>
	Bills vs Titans   both undefeated.
