hoorta is a Republican. I've always said I was independent but very conservative on two major issues that are not part of the Dem agenda, 2nd amendment rights and fiscal conservatism. And even though I voted for Biden to get trumpy out, I also voted for republicans with the major exception of a corrupt local Sheriff under federal indictment. My sister is a long time Republican who wants her party back. She has always been a nevertrumper and also voted for Biden to get him out of office. 

There are many of us out here who don't like extremism on either side, but it was trumpys' BS that lost the Senate in Georgia. Now he has proven even to many of the most entrenched Republicans in Congress that they supported the wrong turd.

I would say people that work in the medical field (like my wife) and various government agencies are insulated from what the rest of the country is experiencing with health care costs. Funny you mention Canada, my sister in law works at the Cleveland Clinic (35 years) and she tells me they average 20 - 30 Canadians a week coming in for life saving surgery. Socialized medicine may sound good, but when you have to wait 6 months for surgery...it’s not good.

The storming of the capital is a principle that the founding fathers argued for after their own, successful, coup and revolution. 

I don't agree with their cause, and I don't agree with their motive, and I certainly don't like their figurehead. Their attempt was half-assed at best but the response to this will be the death of everything the founding fathers convened to argue for.
