He has successfully avoided the hard work all of the other NFL players put in prior to the start of the season.

ESPN's Schefter reporting it right now. Not supposed to be ready for Week #1 against Browns.

A high-level source with the Minnesota Vikings tells WCCO-TV's Mark Rosen that quarterback Brett Favre is expected to sign with the team Tuesday.

Favre is on currently on his way to Minneapolis and is expected to sign with the team this afternoon, the source said.

In late July, speculation that Favre would be joining the Vikings roster abruptly ended when head coach Brad Childress said the quarterback would remain in retirement.

On July 28, Childress said that he received a phone call from Favre Tuesday afternoon and that the quarterback will remain retired.

No veteran likes training camp... Favre doesn't need 4 weeks of grinding it to get his game together....

All he needs is reps with his receivers and you can attain that in shorts.... Learn the playbook, that he's probably had for the past month, get some feel with the receivers and then play the game....

A league source tells us that Brett Favre "definitely" will be starting on Friday night against the Chiefs.

Previously, the Vikings had planned to go with Tarvaris Jackson, as part of the rotation that coach Brad Childress was using to determine whether Jackson or Rosenfels will be the starter.

Cris Carter of ESPN initially reported earlier today that Favre will start in the team's preseason home opener.

Meanwhile, the term "blackout" officially has been removed from all Minnesota dictionaries.

He created this circus the first time he pulled this shit in Green Bay, telling them that he couldn't decide if he wanted to play or not, all the while leaving GB to figure out if they needed to draft his replacement. In that very same year he called a press conference in his hometown, and when all the media arrived he changed his mind and told them he had no idea why they were all there. He is a media whore and has been since the first time he decided to play indecisive. He decided he was bigger than the game and that it was all about him.
