Not everyone makes travel plans based on where they can bring a weapon. I have a Vietnam War era machete as my primary home defense implement and have thought about bringing it on vacation exactly zero times. Somehow l still manage to make it home alive.

If you stay away from the political bullshit and just go to visit the scenery you would want to visit California, Oregon and New York (upstate).  Some beautiful scenery.  Never been to Minnesota.  Only place I've been in Illinois is Chicago.
