About as much chance as I have banging Kate Beckinsale.

Ah, us old farts would settle for Kate Upton of Mercedes Benz fame. She was also the blond in the MB commercial with Willem Dafoe as the devil trying to temp a young man into signing for a MB CLA 250 ("and all that goes with it"). ?

I have to make a choice between Jordan Elliott and Tommy Togiai today in my sports sim league.  I've been waiting on Elliott to produce for 3 years - I think I'm cutting him.  Thoughts?

Tommy Togiai is currently the 126th ranked DT out of 126 DT's. Jordan Elliot is 125th out of 126. (Per PFF) #Browns.......per PFF..... and most people's  estimates.    A toss up I would go with the most likely to stay on the field IF  you can determine that.    Personally I like  Togiai as a slightly better player if the helps any.

Roster down to 76 with 23 more Cuts needed..

Waived

• CB Caleb Biggers
• LB Cam Bright
• TE Miller Forristall
• TE Thomas Greaney
• CB Gavin Heslop
• T Derrick Kelly II
• S Nate Meadors
• WR Jalen Wayne
• WR Anthony Schwartz

Contract terminated/IR

• G Colby Gossett
• RB Jordan Wilkins
• WR Jakeem Grant placed on IR (patella)
•
• Trades
• Josh Dobbs & 2024 7th to Arizona for a 2024 5th round pick
• Browns trade T Tyrone Wheatley Jr. straight up for Pats RB Pierre Strong Jr.

I'm confused about the WR Goodwin. I'd go with the younger guys, I never understood the signing.

He’s a field Stretcher (needed IMO) with the group we have.  He Had some early chemistry with Watson.

Keeping 7 WR's & 7 LB'ers seems like a high number.. But we can't seem to keep many healthy either. Exposing them to the wavier wire with a chance of not returning.. A-Walk/Taki/ now Kuntz may miss time & we don't need that early in the schedule.

Denzel Ward is now out, may need a 6th corner added instead of projected 5.

edit-- I'm preparing to miss my 3-5 projections as normal

Didn't D.Watson in Houston play with a WR or RB with the same last name of Strong? PJ? AJ?

Looks like we have a RB3 not compared to Felton's playing style.

• Needs technique work but will lay into blitzing linebackers.
• Runs with consistent forward lean and finishes with dropped pads.

nice deal, only giving up on a PS player in Wheatley on this squad (he's been ok when given T3 reps)

The Cleveland Browns are set to get some speed back on the field as they work through their final 53-man roster cutdowns. In his press availability today, head coach Kevin Stefanski told the media that deep threat wideout Marquise Goodwin is set to return, cleared from the non-football injury list.

https://brownswire.usatoday.com/2023/08/27/browns-marquise-goodwin-cleared-2023/

Never a bad thing to get the #1 "athlete" at a position for a guy who is about to get cut.

Shifty guy good pass catching ability.  I think Felton is gone now.

WR Ant Schwartz is a easy release.. The roster questions really begin, when ya try to keyhole in--  Elliott- AJ Green-D'Anthony Bell- Hickman or Moe DiaBate into 2-3 spots..

Grant's loss may turn into Watkins or Darden's chance ? Grant Injury Update: WR Jakeem Grant Sr. out for season with ruptured patellar tendon.

Debate may fill Kunaszyk loss? But Berry rarely keeps 5-6 LB'ers.. Tony Fields is making this roster !

edit- getting the feeling it's either D'Ant Bell or Hickman they try to squeeze to PS?

I don’t have a clue on the offensive line but I bet some teams are watching our cuts.  Same with WR someone will give Schwartz a shot

1.) Players placed on injured reserve before the roster cut-down at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, he will be out for the season

2.) Players have to make the initial 53-man roster than go on IR to be eligible to return from the list during season.

Players of #1 concern would now include?

Updates to watch for Sunday & Monday.. Grant (Patella) & Kunaszyk (knee) have MRI's today

S Hickman vs LB Fields vs LB Adams vs LB Diabate -- Much roster construction assumes an extra LB would be the take for ST.. but Hickman is big enough to do similar work in ST and is what you want at the back of the S group.

And Goodwin's injury has to give Grant the edge.. can't roster someone who will just be IR in 2 weeks.

As for WR Watkins.. He definitely won't get through the waiver wire so likely makes it.

QB Mond.. likely does the waiver wire dance all season because QB3 doesn't have to be on 53
