	My daughter’s BF recently got in to playing pool and got himself a pool table. I’m the guy with a van so l helped transport it. We played a couple rounds during halftime yesterday, and he claims there is a correct way to rack the balls that is very different from the way l’ve racked balls at every bar l’ve ever played at my entire life.
</p>

<p>
	The way l was taught is solid-stripe-solid-stripe in a pattern all around the edge along the left hand side and follow that pattern along the edge until it curls in to the 8 ball, and the pattern never breaks, and the only 2 balls that matter in placement are the 1 and the 8.
</p>

<p>
	His method is the photo below and it has my pool playing world flipped upside down. You pool players out there, which way do you rack your balls?
</p>

<p>
	We played partners and my daughter and l smoked him and his roommate both games. That was pretty sweet. I’m not particularly good at pool but l have my moments. Few things can make you strut like making a really good pool shot.

<p>
	Oh it’s a full size pool table. They break down in to parts. My former bro-in-law used to install them for a living so he was the ace-in-the-hole for refelting and leveling it.
</p>

<p>
	The 1 and 8 are both correct in either scenario. Her bf is from Minnesōwwta and l’m not sure what they feed people up there but he is a big dude. It always sucks when you go in to give the intimidating-dad handshake and you gotta look up at the guy.
