The problem was that Baker was medically cleared to play. So if you don't play him, the perception is that you are benching your starting QB and opting to play the backup. It actually could/would set the media up for their interpretations to be blabbed. In hindsight, yes, Stef should've not played Baker.

speaking of firings - report here says Stupanski was such a wimp he couldn't criticize watson.

	seriously.

	https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/report-kevin-stefanski-was-afraid-to-criticize-deshaun-watson/ar-AA1xfHIc

Report: Kevin Stefanski Was Afraid To Criticize Deshaun Watson

	"

More than that, how coach Kevin Stefanski and the organization dealt with him and his subpar performances also have reportedly affected the team’s chemistry.

According to a report by Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, Browns players thought Stefanski was afraid to criticize Watson or point out his mistakes during film sessions:

“We all saw the same things,” one player said. “We all watch the film. Guys are open. According to multiple players, those mistakes weren’t pointed out in film sessions, frustrating at least a few veterans who believed Stefanski wouldn’t criticize Watson in front of the team. “

The report also states that Stefanski returned to pointing out quarterback mistakes when Jameis Winston replaced Watson as the starter.

There have also been reports stating that the decision to keep starting Watson came from the higher-ups.

Of course, that’s not an easy way to run a team."

	********************************************************

Therefore, it is fair to conclude, that the Browns are screwed dismally because of the ownership and FO.

	and......

Stepanski is locked into his job, apparently, because he is a wimpy puppet for haslam's arrogant interferring.

	It's hopeless.

This would be a great idea if this FO understood the draft. Let me just shed some light on my walk with this franchise.

As a 60 year old fan of this team hearing about next year - next year never comes. We're like Linus waiting for Great Pumpkin on Halloween. It never arrives.

As much as I like trading back for more picks, we've had FOs that spent all their energy making the trade-backs happen only to reach on guys (ie; they'd take someone in round 5 that an analyst like Kiper/McShay would say most teams they talked to had the guy projected for round 7 or UFA. When it came time to explain it - it became the ole "the coaching staff is going to develop them." Guess what would happen to that coaching staff about 8-9 months later... They got fired. The next daft was a rinse and repeat. Love em or hate him, since the 70s Pittsburgh had an ownership family that made it a pretty easy place for their HCs to frequent the playoffs. Arguably the best drafts were when Chuck Noll was there. They attacked the draft so they were ready for every great pick that landed on their draft slot. They were prepared to BUILD their team. We should be drafting near the top of every round - so let's go get some now.

For once in my life, can we get a FO GM that knows how to draft? It's a very big reason things never change here. The guy we had John Dorsey has been doing this for Detroit the last few years or so. The OLD Detroit teams liked hearing about trading for next year. This one attacked the draft so they can attack their opponents.

If I were the Browns, I'd be more concerned about what I could get in NEXT year's draft if I trade down, because I'm not really high on Sanders or Ward this high. I'd want to set myself up for the best shot of being able to move around and get a QB next year.

If you're opining? The Browns moving down from #2 to #6 is worth 1,000 draft points. Means Next year's first + probably a player. What I didn't realize until I looked it up today- the Browns and Titans flip picks in the second round. So Cleveland has the first pick in the second round. Historically that pick has a lot of value for teams looking to move up in the second round.

Or maybe the interest is only coming from Deion.

I'm sure it's possible. Not sure what they'd get in return for taking down from #2 to #6, but it could be a great idea.

If Ward and Sanders went 1 and 2, that would mean someone out of Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter, Mason Graham, Will Johnson, Tetairoa McMillan, Kelvin Banks, or Will Campbell would be sitting there.

I'd be more worried what I could get out of the Raiders NEXT year, honestly.

Rumors that there could be mutual interest between the Raiders and Deion Sanders for the open HC job.

Titans take Cam Ward at #1, we call the Raiders and see how bad Deion would want his son. 2nd rounder this year, 1st next?

We'd have a stud fall to us at #6.

Homecoming: Mike Vrabel and the Patriots reached a multi-year agreement to make him New England’s next head coach, per sources.

Vrabel now is the seventh individual to become the head coach for a franchise he once helped win a Super Bowl as a player, joining Jerod Mayo, Bart Starr, Forrest Gregg, Art Shell, Jeff Saturday and Jason Garrett.

Watching Packer boy run his mouth for so long was just like watching that inevitable train wreck coming in slow motion.

Oh I got bothered enough to kick the obnoxious troll off for a couple of weeks. He'll be nowhere to be seen if the Eagles beat the crap out of his beloved Pack.

True! NE was a perfect Island of Misfit Toys for him to return to; especially considering he was the only misfit returning to the cozy environment and position he did well at.
