	Is anyone here onboard with this?
</p>

<p>
	If Texas pushes through redistricting (Gerrymandering) years earlier than they're supposed to it will lead to an arms race of redistricting around the country. Or at least it should, as it seems Dems will finally fight fire with fire.
</p>

<p>
	Unless one of you MAGA boys wants to defend what Texas is doing but then tell me California doing the exact same thing is wrong. Normally your hypocrisy is at least across two sentences...

			The point I'm making is that both parties are creative at finding ways within the law to disenfranchise their opponents' supporters. For you to suggest they're only playing by "the Reps game" is willfully ignoring a lot of shit the DNC pulled from Trump's first run through Biden's presidency.
		</p>

<p>
	We disagree at the level of "gamesmanship" in both instances, clearly. In this instance here we're talking about redistricting to generate additional seats. The inciting incident was a demand from Trump to redraw districts mid cycle in Texas. That's what the Reps did. Follow up redistricting in Cali by Dems is now in response to that. It is playing the Reps game.
</p>

<p>
	Both parties do what they can to win. Dems are generally pretty terrible at everything. Either they try to take the morale high ground or they're incompetent. Probably more the latter.
</p>

<p>
	But after all the shit that has been attempted and will continue to be attempted (2020 election fraud claims, asking states to "find votes", attempting to end mail in voting, reducing the # of polling places in Dem areas, and whatever else I'm guessing is laid out in Project 2025) it's pretty damn clear the MAGA Reps are pushing this "game" further and are playing it more.
</p>

<p>
	I love a good "both sides" too, but it's very clear in this instance both sides aren't the same.

<p>
	I'm not saying they don't gerrymander (the studies on the subject would tell you Reps abused it more in modern history though). Both sides do it and I'd prefer if every district was drawn by an independent committee. I said this already.

<p>
	Reps are playing by their own set of rules and Dems need to wake up to that and fully suit. Or we'll just see more stacking the deck by stretching what's possible in favors of conservatives (gerrymandering, vote suppression, etc)

	Tough to see how getting into this race is a good idea if you're DNC leadership.

			It's going to be hilarious seeing all these boomers hiring zoomers who are comfortable with AI, but don't bother to verify. A bunch of them are going to see initially passable results, fire all the competent people they don't want to pay, and then be left with zoomie and AI who have no idea what the fuck they're doing. I have already seen a bunch of viral linkedin posts of boomer bosses touting the first half of this scenario.

	I agree with you here completely. Companies will chase shareholder value by implementing AI and cutting entry level jobs. They'll get that short term boost.
</p>

<p>
	But long term that's a gap in developing and investing in their future managers and leaders.
</p>

<p>
	I've seen plenty of early college analysts absolutely crank out work in excel, great models, etc., and then have no idea what the numbers actually mean. AI is only going to make that worse.

			I absolutely would not implicitly trust whatever data it spits out. At most I use it now as an advanced Wikipedia, making sure to ask for sources, and then directly checking each source.
		</p>

		<p>
			Find, don't trust, and verify
		</p>

		<p>
			I'm very concerned about students coming through school now with the crutch of AI. This probably sounds like older generations complaining about calculators, but those calculators didn't do the thinking for you. I'm in the consulting world and I'm seeing it with the analysts right out of school excessively relying on AI.
		</p>

		<p>
			It's a weird situation too, because their jobs are going to be on the chopping block for AI when more sr consultants can handle client relationships, speak as experts, and do the conceptual problem solving. An AI can spit out pages and Excel models. But, if you let an AI replace these entry level roles you don't have a base to grow into leadership.

			Well, I have no complaint with a I, and yes, I know. It doesn't know the difference between bullshit and straight up once in a while. But on the other hand it's not actively twisted toward left or right. Like google.
		</p>

		<p>
			Of course, it's always funny to see people switch hats on gerrymandering, depending on whose side benefits.

	Depending on the AI you're using it can easily spit out biased responses. Musk's AI is a documented example of this. I would trust any of them implicitly.
</p>

<p>
	I agree, people should stay firm in their political ideological convictions. That's something not seen on this board though, and that's very clear based on those following MAGA over their supposed conservative principles.
</p>

<p>
	I oppose all gerrymandering and think all redistricting should be done by a completely independent board at the same frequency of he census.

			It's actually really damn good at parsing raw data. For now, I draw the line at letting AI interpret the data, it's still susceptible to unknown biases. But when I need to find an exact Medicare guideline for them to cover a specific service, I let AI find what I need and verify.
