I noted “right wing victimhood”, but no, l didn’t make that leap. 

I don’t know if you’re older or younger than me but l’ve had my fair share of exposure to the country music crowd, and l remember the 1980s. I can see how “country” and “white people” could be equated back then, but even then it seemed like “country” was transitioning to more of a lifestyle thing instead of a race thing. There were people of color in to the country scene even back then.
