	yeah, I recorded the movie. I never saw the whole thing, just some parts of it, and now that I watched the whole thing, Thank Goodness for fast forward.
</p>

<p>
	no wonder it has intermissions built into it. A tomato plant growing from seed is more exciting to watch grow than watching this movie.
</p>

<p>
	   So many times, the 'drama' lasted for minutes. A guy walking. Floating spacewalk. Ship sailing through space slower than frozen molasses. The scenes just kept going on and on, slowly. This boring movie could easily have been made to last half the time.
</p>

<p>
	141 minutes is almost twice as long as it should have been.
</p>

<p>
	Sure, the premise is intriguing, AI supercomputer in space goes rogue, and adopts a mission that makes human life expendable. They should have named the supercomputer "Hallie" and given it a sexy woman's voice. Surely, many of the parts of the movie were filmed in very........................slow...........................................motion. And the monolith just looked like a polished granite stone, so I don't know.
</p>

<p>
	This movie did win awards, etc etc. Pretty impressive special effects tech for it's age - it was released in 1968.

			I enjoyed this Movie.. Some people get it... Some don't and not saying you didn't.. I'm just saying this type of movie is not for everyone... The Sequel 2010 with Roy Scheider,John Lithgow and Helen Mirren does a decent job of tying everything together with plenty of dialogue.. Keir Dulea makes a cameo appearance  and HAL 9000 is resurrected... No matter what... Arthur C. Clarke is a modern day genius.. He has wrote other books based on this very story... In the end... We all need to realize the Universe is bigger and grander than what we mere mortal humans think.. There is something in the Heavens and the Cosmos that is far bigger and greater than us.. Call it God... A natural force of physics and life... We are all bound to it..

	some parts were cool.... the premise of the movie was way, way, way ahead of it's time.
