	This is one of the latest Taylor Sheridan shows to drop on the Paramount+ app. If you’re not familiar with his work he’s the guy behind Yellowstone and its various spin offs, as well as other notable shows like Tulsa King and Landman. He’s really got a knack for neo-Western dramas.
</p>

<p>
	I’ve been generally impressed with the stuff he’s done so l took a shot on his latest 6 episode show that dropped and concluded in March of 2026.
</p>

<p>
	Having seen a bit of his work l will say this was a little different from some of his other work. Yes, there’s still a gorgeous western theme to the show, but this show is much more drama driven than action driven.
</p>

<p>
	He pulled a couple heavy hitters for the lead roles, Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer. They play super rich NYC socialites that are now grandparents with 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters. The show isn’t really clear on how they earned their fortune, it references their humble beginnings as a couple, but their wealth is evident based on the lavish properties they own which includes a house in the Hamptons, NYC apartments their daughters live in, as well as their own giant apartment near Madison Ave and a ranch they own on the Madison river in Montana. Hence the name for the show. It’s largely a juxtaposition between life and people in 2 different parts of America that bear similar names.
</p>

<p>
	The ranch is the setting for about 60 to 70 percent of the show. Kurt’s character has a brother who lives there, and Kurt makes trips there as often as he can because he loves fly fishing and the great outdoors.
</p>

<p>
	I’ll sidestep the big spoiler alert, but something happens that draws the whole family to the ranch in Montana. They had been reluctant to go in the past due to the lack of amenities and the lack of an indoor bathroom.
</p>

<p>
	It’s a pretty neat show. More of a slower paced and cerebral show than some of Sheridan’s other recent works. It works as sort of a comparative analysis between the hustle and bustle of NYC to life in rural Montana.
</p>

<p>
	A little slow moving at times, but heavy at other times. I’ll give it a B+ and l’m looking forward to the next season, which l understand has already been filmed.

	I just watched the first Epi of this series.. All I'm gonna say is.. I think this is Michelle Pfieffers finest acting work... If she doesn't haul in a few awards... Something is seriously wrong.... She is perfect for this role...
